No, 122,915, Patentedlan.23,l872.
WI I 135 SSE S. 09W M {W I I may PATENT OFFICE.
ADOLPHE SALMON, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
IMPROVEMENT IN SUSPENDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 122,915, dated January 23, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ADOLPHE SALMON, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Suspenders; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawingmakingapartof this specification.
'The nature of my invention consists in-the application of certain additional straps (for holding the drawers of the wearer) to a suspender, having its webs connected at the back, all as more fully hereinafter set forth.
The figure in the accompanying drawing clearly shows how the same is constructed.
A A represent the two webs, made of suit able material, width, and length. d d represent the front buckles, to which are connected forward pantalo'on-straps B B, in the manner more fully hereinafter set forth. B B represent the rear pantaloon-straps, which are connected to the Webs also, in the manner set forth herein after. E E E represent the drawer-straps, which are each provided with a buckle-slide, a, as shown, so that their lengths may be shortened or lengthened at will and independent of the adjustment of the front and rear pantaloonstraps. It will be understood that the buckles d, which adjust the front pantaloon-straps, may be of any suitable form or construction known, and that the straps B B may be in any manner suitably connected therewith. b, b, and 0 represent small metallic frames, each having a cross-bar. To the lower part of these frames are attached the straps B B in front and B B at the back. To the cross-bars thereof are attached the adjustable drawer-strapsE E. The straps B B, adjustable strap E, and frame I) are connected to the buckle d by a hook and loop, as shown, and may be connected and disconnected from the buckle at pleasure; but 1 do not wish to confine myself to the particular construction of said connection, nor do I wish to be understood as broadly claiming the employment of additional straps to a suspender for holding the drawers, nor to the adjustability of said straps for the purposes set forth, as I am aware that such is not new but What I claim is- As an improved article of manufacture the within-described suspenders, the webs A Abeing connected at the back, and having front and rear pantaloon-straps B B B B, and adjustable drawer-straps E E E connected to metallic frames provided with cross-bars, all substantially as set forth.
ADOLPHE SALMON.
