To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HARRY S. R. JOHNSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sanford. in the county of Midland and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Supports; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in a support and one of its objects is the provision of a device of this character which shall be simple, durable and efficient, and which may be manufactured and sold at a comparatively low cost.
Another object of this invention is to provide a substantially U -shaped attaching member to receive a valve stem housing of a faucet and having its arm portions diverging inwardly to engage each side of the spout or nozzle of the faucetat the bend thereof to prevent the Ushaped attaching member from moving laterally thereon.
A further object of this invention is to provide a supporting member formed integrally with the end of the arm portions and being curved to form a hook for supporting buckets, tea kettles and the like adjacent the nozzle or spout of the faucet and having its under side grooved adjacent the point of the attachment to the arm portions to fit or receive the curved portion of the spout or nozzle to prevent any wabbling or turning of the supporting member upon the faucet when supporting a bucket or the like.
WVith these and other objects in view as will become more apparent as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
For acomplete understanding of my invention, reference is to be had to the fol lowing description and accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a side elevation ofa faucet, illustrating a support applied thereto constructed in accordance with my invention,

Fig. 3 is a fragmentary bottom plan view, illustrating the groove in the supportlng member to fit or receive the spout or nozzle of the faucet.
Referring in detail to the drawing, the numeral 1 indicates as an entirety a faucet, having the usual spout or nozzle 2 curved as illustrated at 3 and the usual valve stem housing 4-, the above description relating to a well known construction of faucet and to which my invention is applied.
A substantially U-shaped attaching member 5 is positioned around the valve stem housing 4 and rests upon the faucet as illustrated at 6 and has its arm portions diverging inwardly to engage the spout or nozzle 2 at the front portion 3 thereof to prevent the attaching member from moving laterally upon the faucet 1.
An attaching member 7 is curved to form a hook having a substantially oval-shaped opening 8 for reducing the waste and cost of making same. The supporting member is formed integrally with the ends of the arm portions as illustrated at 9 and has its bottom face thereof beveled or grooved in an inclined plane as illustrated at 10 to engage the spout or nozzle 2 at the bent portion 3 thereof to prevent the supporting member from wabbling or turning upon the faucet when supporting a bucket, tea kettle or the like.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, it will readily be noted that a support is provided which may be readily applied to a faucet and which will obviate the danger of scalding or burning a persons hand while filling a bucket, tea kettle or the like from the faucet.
While I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it will be understood that minor changes in construction, combination and arrangement of parts may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is A support comprising a substantially U- shaped attaching member having its web portion disposed about the valve stem housing of a valve and having its arm portions tured and curved upwardly to form a hook for supporting articles.
