Description

r. KLASS. COMBINATION FRO-NT AND BACK REDUCER.
APPLICATION F-l-LED OCT. 31, 19l6- Patented Mar. 6, 1917.
IN VEN TOR Fazzrzylflass WITNESSES:
A'r-roRNmYs FANNY KLASS, OF SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA.
COMBINATION FRON T AND BACK REDUCER.
Applicationfiled October 31, 1916. Serial No. 128,700.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FANNY KLAss, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Combination Front and Back Reducers, of which thefollowing is a specification.
This invention relates front and back reducer.
The object of the present invention isto provide a simple, cheaply manufactured, easily applied front and back reducer constructed of a sectional elastic front adapted to support or hold up a womans breasts, and a back sectioncooperating therewith consisting of a pair of interspaced elastic bands connected by a plurality of vertically positioned steels.
Further objects will hereinafter appear. The invention consists of the parts and to a combination the construction and combination of parts as hereinafter more fully described and claimed, having reference to the accompanying drawings in Which Figure 1' is a perspective view showing the application ofthe invention.
- Fig. 2 is a .perspective View of the front and back reducer.
Fig. 3 is a front View of the invention. Fig. 4 is an inside view of the back section.
It is a well known, fact that women as a whole are rather particular as regards their figure, and especially the bust. Although a woman may have a full and rounded chest,
and comparatively speaking Well developed and 'rounded breasts, it often happens that these are placed too low,-or extend too far under-the arms to give the possessor a good form without artificialfsupport of some kind; I Corsets are langelyv worn with this ob ect in view, but do not always accomplish the object sought. Any artificial support worn should be so}. constructedas to brace and hold up the breasts, andshould in most cases also press them away from the arms laterally toward each, other to permit the bust to have a full and rounded appearance. 1
With this object in view, a front and back supporter and reducer of the character shown has been provided. This consists of two cup-shaped sections 2 and 3 constructed of an elastic material, which are adapted to inclose and sup ort the breasts. These sections may be secu red together in any Specification 'of Letters Patent.

suitable manner or as here shown by the hooks and eyes. The back section consists of two comparatively wide bands 5 and 6 which are spaced apart as at 7 to permit a free ventilation and toprevent the wearer frons becoming overheated. These sectionsare held apart and secured together in-this instance by three vertically positioned steels I such as indicated at 8, 9, and 10. The individual front sections 2 and 3 are secured to theverticalsteels 8 and 10 by sewing or as here shown by hooks and eyes 4..
A reducer and supporter constructed as First of all it has breasts where their position is com r 1? second if the breasts have a tendency to extend under the arms, it can readily be seen that they are pulled forward andtogether by means of the upper elastic band i Y 5 passing under the arms, and the elastic front sections 2 and 3. The lower band 6 cooperates with the upper band to maintain a fixed position and atthe sametime supi ports the back and thereby relieves such pains as are generally developed when a corset is not worn. The device not only supports the breasts and gives thebust as a whole a full and rounded appearance, but it also reduces the bust in its entirety, as'it' cpen, it can readily be seen that it may be .ithout over- 3p 9 worn with perfect comfort heating the wearer or hinder gian'y freedom. of movement so far as thearmsf'are concerned 'or otherwise.
Women being athletically inclined; can
therefore wear the garmentde$cribed, where' a corset would be entirely out of the ques:
tion.
T "Whi1e; ..the aim, anti-Thackseas. are
worn as a combined garmenttit is obvious that the front sections may be attached to ii any other garment if desired. I similarly wish-it understood that the materials and finish of the several parts of'the garment may be such as the experience and judgment of the manufacturer may dictate. The
lower strap also supports the back-to such an extent that a weak back will b'e strengthened and a strong back supported so that eom-- paratively heavy loads can he lifted Withcut danger of straining.
Having thus described my intention, whet disposed at the centers and ends of the bands, and means between the end steelsand the outer ends of the sections to reinovably con- 1L nect said parts.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
FANNY KLASS.
