It will be noticed, especially in Fig. 3, that the rubber section 5 is provided with a dexible reinforcing plate 11 which is bowed both longitudinally and transversely. There is arranged a small'section 12 of rubber between nut 7 and the reinforcing plate l1 whereby the plate is notr exposed to the weather and other undesirable conditions.

The plate 3 secured to section 2 isI formed of any desired material, as for instance metal, and is of an appreciable thickness so as l,to fit into the recess or socket 13 in the sectio-n 5 and act as means forpreventin the rotation of said section. Thi'sis very esirable as. there is only one retaining member, namely., bolt 6, which would not be sutcient to prevent the rotation of section 5. It is evident that the plate 3 could be of any suitable size but must tit with; reasonable accuracy the recess 13 sp as to insure the section 5 against movement.

lt will be observed that thereis no adhesive for holding the rubber ysection in= place and that there is provided only one retaining member, namely, bolt 6, which maythe same may be properly tightened. 1t is. evident that' either form of nut could be' used without departing from the spirit of the invention. However, a nut having some form of proJecting corners 9 is desirable-as the same insures against accidental removal lof the nut.
