To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM YosT, of Butlerville, in the county of Varren and State of Ohio, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Buckles; and I do hereby declare that the following is afull, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the annexed drawing making a part of this speciiication, and to the letters and gures of reference marked thereon.
Figure l of the .drawing is atop or face view of my invention. Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal section of the same.
This invention relates to a strap-buckle 5 and it consists in its construction and novel arrangement of parts by means of which it may be secured to a strap without sewing or rivets, as hereinafter described.
In the accompanying drawing illustrating this invention, A designates the buckleframe constructed with the six cross-bars marked respectively a b c d c f and arranged in the relative positions shown in the drawing.
rIhe bar c holds two buckle-hooks or tongues, c', with their ends projecting over the bar b, and the bar dholds one tongue, c, the end of which projects over the end bar f. The number of hooks is not a material part of this invention. The buckle is attached to the strap by inserting the hooks c through it near its end, and placing the latter under or behind the bar d and over the bar c, where it will be securely held and will not be drawn out by turning or twisting the buckle. The other end of the strap, or the end of another strap, or any part thereof, is buckled by inserting the hook or tongue c through the proper straphole, and thence turning the strap over the bars b c d e and under the bar a.
