CLOTHES-WBINGER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Jan. 4, 1916.
Application filed November 2, 1915. Serial No. 59,163.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EMIL WEISS, a citizen of the United States, residing atUnion Hill, in the county of Hudson, State of New J ersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Clothes- Wringers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to improvements in clothes wringers, and particularly to clothes wringers for use in connection with stationary laundry tubs which have inclined sides.
The principal object of the invention is to improve the construction of the wringer whereby the same can be attached to a porcelain laundry tub without danger of disengagement and in such manner that it will not mar or injure the face of the tub.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing.
In the drawing: Figure 1 is a front elevation of my improved wringer applied to the edge of a tub; Fig. 2 is a side elevation; and Fig. 3 is a vertical section on the line 33 of Fig. 1.
Referring particularly to the accompanying drawing, represents one of the inclined sides of a stationary laundry tub which is formed with the usual lateral extension or flange at its upper edge, as shown at 11. The 'wringer frame comprises the four uprights 12, and 13, arranged in pairs.
These uprights may be made of any mate-.
rial, but are preferably made of metal which is T-shaped in cross section. The lower por- Gopies of this patent may be obtained for five cents each, by addressing the Commissioner of Patents,
screws 17.
A wringer thus constructed and arranged will be moreeflectively held in an upright tion of each of the legs 12 inclines outwardly as shown at 14c to properly engage the inner inclined face of the side of the tub. The inner face of this portion 1 1 is provided with a cushion 15 to protect the face of the tub from scratching. The lower portion of each of the legs 13 is offset as shown at 16, and in each portion is carried a screw 17, the inner end of which is provided with a protecting button 18. Disposed against the outer face of the side of the tub, and beneath the flange 11 is a longitudinally extending board 19, to which there are securedthe vertical metal strips 20, each formed with a threaded opening 21 for the reception of one of the position on the tub, and by means of the board 19 and members 20, the surface of the side of the tub will be protected. lVhat is claimed is: I
A clothes wringer for use in connection with a laundry tub having a rolled rim, comprising uprights, each formed at the lower end with a foot, the foot of one upright being inclined to correspond to the inclination of the side of the tub, clamping screws in the other foot, and a spacing and guiding member for the screws consisting of a board disposed under the rolled rim, and depending members having threaded openings for the reception of the said screws, said feet and inner ends of the screws being provided with protective coverings. a
In testimony whereof, I affix my signature, in the presenceof witness.
