To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GEORGE L. Mmmoox, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented a new and useful Improvement in; Head-Rests for Bath-Tubs, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to head rests for bath tubs wherein a single wire, bent to form at once a securingand supporting means, operates in conjunction with afabric strip,-for the support of the head; and the objects of my invention are first, to provide an improved means for supporting the head of a bather at the inclined end of a bath tub; second, to provide a device of the character described that is durable and simple of construction; third, to provide a head rest that may be produced cheaply; fourth, to provide a head rest that is adapted to engagethecurved end of a bath tub; fifth, toprovide a device of the character described that Will support the head in comfort; sixth, to provide a device of the character described wherein the fabric may be easily removed, washed and replaced; and seventh, to-provide a head rest for bath tubs that will not be injured by dampness. In order to provide a cheap, durable and comfortable head rest for a bath tub that may be easily and readily attached and detached, and also impervious to Water, I have provided the device described as follows: A single U-shaped wire member has hooks 2 formed on the ends of the stems 3 thereof,- said hooks 2 being arranged to engage the curved end or roll 4= of. a bath tub 5 as disclosed in Fig. 1 of the drawings. The lower portions 6 of the stems 3 are bent at an angle to the upper portions of the stems 3 so as to form a support which is arranged to rest on the inclined portion of the tub 5 as disclosed in Fig. 1.

tions' 6 of the stems 3 imparts a degree of rigidity to the frame comprising the U- shaped member and also acts as a separator between the stems 3 and the lower portions 6 thereof.

Between the bent portions 6 and the hooks 2 a pliable double fabric 8 is secured around and between the stems 3 and serves as a resilient support for the head of the bather.

The U-shaped construction, while possessing a degree of rigidity sufficient to retain the shape and support the weight of a head, also possesses a certain degree of resiliency between the ends of the stems 3 so that when a weight is resting on the fabric 8 the rigidity of the structure is not sufiicient to prevent a slight movement of the said stems 3 toward each other. The pliable nature of the rest 8 will also contribute toward the resiliency thereof so that a bather reclining within the tub may have his head comfortably supported.

It is evident that the pliable fabric head rest 8 may be easily removed andwashed and as easily replaced also that the entire structure may be easily and readily removed from the tub and as easily and as readily replaced.

Inasmuch as the parts are few and simple of construction it is obvio s that it may be produced cheaply.

Having thus described my invention, what ll claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A head rest for bath tubs comprising a U-shaped member having the ends thereof arranged to'engage the curved end of a bath tub and the lower portion thereof bent to rest on the inclined portion ofa tub; and a suitable fabric secured between the stems of the U-shaped member and arranged to support the head.
