Be it known that I, FREDERIG G. NICO LAUS, a citizen of the United States, resid:
ing at Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stove-Door Hinges, of which the following is a specification, reference being had thereln to the accompanying drawing. j

The object ofmy invention is toprovide a hinge of this character which is readily secured to the door-frame by means of a single bolt and which obviates the necesslty of drilling holes in the door-frame for securing the hinge. thereto.
Another object of my Invention is to pro- 'vide a stove door hinge of thischaracter in which the wearing parts can be readily V removed and replaced and at the same time providing a simple, cheap and effective hinge having certain details of structure and combination of parts hereinafter more fully set forth. a V

Referring now to the drawings, 1 represents the frame of my improved stove which is preferably made of angle iron, and one leg 2 of'the angle iron is preferably cut away, asindicated at v3, and having com municating with the upper end of the cutaway portion 3 a cutaway portion 4:,ex-

as shown in Fig. 1, which is arranged eX- actly like the one heretofore described, except that the slotscor cut-away portions 3 and 4: are oppositely arranged. That is the cut away portion 4 extends downwardly instead of upwardly in respect to the cut-away portion 3. The lower pintle-carrying member 5 has a pintle 6 extending from its lower face instead of its upward face, and from this it will be seen that the door is rigidly supported by the two pintle carrying members which are secured to the single nut and the door-frame does not need any boring for the openings for securing the pintle-carrying member thereto.
While I have shown this specific form of pintle-carrying member, it will be seen that the same could be varied without departing from my invention.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is c 1. The combination with a stationary member having a cut-away portion in one edge, of a movable member having a pintle carrying member wholly within said cutaway portion, and means secured within the cut-away portion and extending transversely of the stationary member and forming a bearing for said pintle.
2. The combination with a member hav ing a cut-away portion on one edge, of a movable member having a pintle carrying member within the said cut-away portion, and a locking bolt extending transverse of the stationary member within the cut-away portion and forming a bearing for said pintle.
3. The combination with a member having cut-away portions in one edge, of movable members having pintle carrying members within the cut-away portions of the stationary member, and locking bolts extending transverse of the stationary member and forming bearings for said pintles.
l. The combination with a stationary member having a cut-away portion in its edge, of a movable member having a pintle carrying member within said cut-away portion, and a locking bolt secured within the cut-away portion transverse of the stationary member, and forming a bearing for said pintle.
5. The combination with a stationary member having cut-away portions, of a movable member having pintle-carrying members entering said cut-away portions, locking bolts having heads at one end and a screw-threaded portion at the opposite end, and a pintle bearing intermediate the head and screw-threaded portion.
6. The combination with a stationary member, of a movable member having a pintle and a locking bolt having a head at one end and a screw-threaded portion at the opposite end, and an intermediate portion forming a bearing for said pintle.
7. The combination with a stationary member having cut-away portions in one edge, of a movable member having pintle carrying members within said cut-away portions, locking bolts extending through the cut-away portions, transverse of the stationary member, and having openings forming bearings for said pintles.
8. The, combination with a stationary member having cut-away portions, of a movable member having pintle carrying members entering the cut-away portions, said stationary member having cut-away portions communicating with the before-mentioned cut-away portions, and locking bolts secured within the last mentioned cut-away portion and forming bearings for said pintles.
9. The combination with a member having cut-away portions, of a door having pintle-carrying members entering said cutaway portions, and locking bolts having heads entering the cut-away portions of the member, and locking bolts having heads formed on one end, a threaded portion at the opposite end and an intermediate enlarged portion entering the cut-away portion in the member and having an opening therethrough forming bearings for said pintles.
10. The combination with a member having horizontally arranged cut-away portions, of a door having pintle-carrying members entering said horizontally arranged cutaway portions, a vertically disposed cutaway portion communicating with the horizontally arranged portion and locking bolts having heads at one end and a threaded portion at the opposite end, and an enlarged intermediate portion fitting within the vertical cut-away portion of the member and having openings therein forming bearings for said pintles, a cup-shaped member fitting over the screw-threaded end of the locking bolts and nuts on the screw threaded end of the bolt on the outside of the cup-shaped member.
11. The combination with a stationary member having cut-away portions in its edge, of a movable member having pintle carrying members entering the cut-away portion, said stationary member having cutaway portions communicating with the before-mentioned cut away portions, and looking bolts passing transversely through the last-mentioned cut-away portion of the stationary member, and adapted to be clamped thereto and forming bearings for said pintle.
12. The combination with a stationary member having cut away portions, of a door having pintle carrying members entering the said cut-away portions, and locking bolts entering the cut-away portions of the member, said locking bolts having heads on one side of the member and nuts on the opposite side of the member, and clamping them to the said member and said bolts having means intermediate the heads and the nuts for forming bearings for said pintles.
13. The combination With a stationary member having a cut-away portion, of a movable member having a pintle carrying member entering the said cut-away portion,
