Be it known that I, CLAIBOURNE FREMONT JACKSON, a citizen of the United States, re- I siding at Las Minas, Republic of Cuba, have invented certain new and useful Improve ments in Non-Refillable Bottles, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a non-refillable bottle and the principal object of the invention is to providean indicator, which. will be held in a raised position by the cork when the bottle is closed and which will drop into the bottle when the cork is removed.

Another object of the invention is to so construct the indicator that a portion of the outer link will be broken off before thecork can be removed, thus causing the indicator to be released when the cork is extracted.

This invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view through a bottle provided with the improved indicator; Fig. 2is a top plan view of the bottle shown in Fig; 1; Fig. 3 1s a perspective view of a portion of the outer link.

The bottle 10 is provided with the usual neck 11 into which the cork 12 fits. 'This bottle may be of any suitable size and threaded but must be madeof some transparent material such as glass or the likeso that the indicator may be readily seen. The rod 13 which forms the lower link of the indicator is embedded in the enlargement 14' ing loosely connected by the eyes 18 so that when the cork is removed, the lllCllCfltOPXnZtY be collapsed and fall to'the bottom of the bottle. lhe rod l5which carries the weight 19 has its free end portionQO flattened as shown in Fig. 3, thusforminga bill which extends between the cork and the neck of the bottle as shown in Fig. 1. lhe rod 15 is formed of some relatively brittle. material so that when the bottle is opened, the bill will break close to the neck, thus preventing the indicator from being held in a suspended position and also preventing the bottle from being refilled and a new cork put in place 1'' the one which has been withdrawn.

The bill will now form a seal for holding the cork in place, it only being possible to withdraw the cork byiirst bending the bill back toward its original position. When doing this, the bill will be broken at the point 2 1 and it will therefore be impossible to refill the bottle with out it being shown. When the cork is withdrawn, the rod 15 will no longer be supported and therefore the indicator will collapse dicator but also serving as a seal to hold the 5 cork in the bottle.

What is claimed is:-

1. A bottle provided with an outlet neck, a stopper fitting within said neck, and an indicator, said indicator comprising an inner link mounted in the bottom of said botv tle, an outer link having its free end portion flattened, the outer link :being formed of brittle material, a weight carried by said outer link, links connecting said outer link with said inner link, said outer llnk being passed between said stopper and bottle neck, and being then bent to extend across said stopper and having its end portion bent and driven between said sto 3 er and bottle neck. l

2. A bottle provided with an outlet neck, a stopper in said outlet neck, and an inclicator formed of a plurality of: links, the inner link being mounted in the bottom of said bottle and the outer link being formed of 9'5 brittle material and having its free end portron flattened and passed between sald stopper and bottle neck and being then bent to extend across the said stopper and having its end portion bent and driven between sa1d stopper and bottle neck. 3 A receptacle provided with an outlet neck, and an indicator within said receptacle formed or" a plurality of loosely connected links, the inner link being embedded in the bottom of said bottle and the outer link being formed of brittle material and having its free end portion flattened whereby the flattened portion 01 the outer link may be bent to secure a' stopper in said neck and no broken when bent to permit the stopper to be removed.
