IMPROVEMENT IN WAGON-SEATS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent N o. 115,158, dated May 23, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LEwIsHENRY BULLooK, of Champaign city, in the county of Champaign and State of Illinois, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in'Wagon- Seats; `and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description ofthe construction and operation of the' same, reference being had to the annexed drawing making a part of this specification and to the.
letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 of the drawing is a representation of a central vertical transverse section of my invention. Fig. 2 is a vertical cross-section taken through the springs.
head of the base of the frame. The letter H represents my clasp or tie, which fits on one end of a cross-head and clasps both the lower end of the spring and said cross-head, in the manner shown on the drawing. This tie is secured in place by nuts and screws, and thereby made removable at will.
In order to give additional strength and permanency to the springs I construct my clasps with flanges extending upward, as shown by the letters y, which ii'anges serve .as guides and supports for the springs and conduce to the end desired.
Claim.
In a wagon-seat, the anged clasps H atl tached to the ends of the crossheads, substantially as and for the 4purposes specied.
