This invention proposes an improved '.guarjdjtent -for babies, which is so constructed as to yenable thebaby 'toy move freely about therein without requiring supervision and .without danger of becoming hurt by contact with any projections or parts of hard material, and which is. speciallydesigned to be set up inthegopenjair.
It also comprehendsla .tent having the features specied which is'capable of being l readily collapsed, 4 whengdesijred, andffolded ln Figs. 2 and 3, the legs of the vertical member of the supporting frame are shown in section.
As shown in said drawing the invention, as a whole, consists of a tent proper, and a supporting frame therefor, the latter comprising, in turn, a base a, and a verticallydisposed bow d. The base a ishere shown as rectangular and as having pivotally connected with its opposite side members the inturned ends n of the legs of the bow, although the said bow is normally held stationary by means of suitable pins d', or the like, as depicted in Fig. l. The connection of the bow ends n to the base a is effected by providing the outwardly-projecting central portions of the afore-mentioned side members of said base with inner and outer perforated lugs a and c, through which said ends project, the said lugs being secured in any desired manner to the said base members. The outer lugs c are also formed with perforations through which, and through alining perforations in the legs of the bow, the pins cl are inserted. The tent proper is likewise rectangular in cross-section, as will be understood, and is composed of a -lspecicatidn of Lettersy Patent.

In' this way, the tent is maintained erect and in a tautened condition, as will be understood.
The tent body, as previously stated, is made of netting, preferably in-two separate portions, the vlower portion being of relatively fine or narrow mesh, in order to prevent the same and picking up objects from the ground on the outside of the tent, while the upper portion Z is of wider mesh, as shown in Figs. 1 and 4c. n
The floor of the tent preferably consists of a mattress z' or the like.
The sides of the tent are equipped with roller shades g, which may be lowered when it is desired to screen the baby from the sun.
. What is claimed is:
1'. A guard tent for babies consisting in combination, of a supporting frame, comprising a base, and a bow extending thereover and connected at its ends thereto; and a collapsible tent proper suspended from the top` of said bow and attached at `its lower edges to said base. f
2. A guard tent for babies consisting, in` combination, of a supporting frame, comprising a base', a -bow extending over the base and having the ends of its legs bent inwardly and pivotally and detachably conbaby from reaching through the f llo j' nected to said base at opposite points, and means for normally holding said bow in upright position; and a collapsiblev tent proper suspended from the top of said bow and attached at its lower edges to said base.
3. A guard tent for babies consisting; in combination, of a supporting frame, com prising a rectangular base having its opposite side members provided with centrallylocated,l inner and outer perforated lugs, a bow extending over the base and having its legs provided with inturned terminals which are pivotally and detaohably engaged in the perforations in said lugs, and means removably engaged with said legs and the outer lugs for normally holding said bow in upright position; and a collapsible tent proper suspended from the top of said bow and attached at its lower edges to said base.
4. A guard tent for babies consisting, in combination, of a supporting frame comprising a base; and a bow extending thereover and conneoted at the ends of its legs thereto; and a collapsible tent comprisingl an upper frame suspended from the top of the bow, and a body of netting secured at its upper and lower edges to said upper frame and said base.
5. A guard tent for babies consisting, in combination, of a supporting frame eomprising a base7 and a bow extending there over and connected at the ends of its legs thereto; and a collapsible tent Comprising an upper frame suspended from the top of the bow, and a body of netting secured at its upper and lower edges to said upper frame and said base7 said upper frame being provided with oppositely-projeoting lateral arms having terminal rollers engaging said legs and adapted to travel therealong, said legs having outturned portions adjacent their ends to permit of the positioning and removal of said upper frame and its arms.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
