ATTACHMENT FOR COLLAPSIBLE TUBES.
Specification of Letters latent.
Patented Jamie, inn 5.
Application filed September 19, 1914. Serial No. 862.431.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WERNER B. HEIDELOFF,
- a citizen of the United States, residing at 4.6
lVestervelt avenue, in the city of Plainfield, county of Union, and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Attachments for Collapsible Tubes, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to devices for holding and expelling the contents of collapsible tubes such as are commonly psed for containing tooth paste, shaving cream and other viscous or semi-liquid articles.
The special object of my invention is to provide a simple andconvenient device for securing the collapsible tubes to a wall or other suitable support, and while thus supported, for expelling a part of the contents for use as desired.
The spirit of my invention is an arm or guide which is screwed into, or otherwise rigidly secured, to the wall or support on one end ol'which arm or guide is a'hanger to hold the neck of the tube, and along which arm or guide rides lengthwise another hanger provided with bearingsdn which the respective ends of the tube-folding key are out and claim the spirit of the invention.
Reference is to be had, to the accompanying drawings forming part of this specification, in which like parts are designated by the same numbers in all the figures.
Figure 1 is a plan view representing one form of my supporting and expelling device for collapsible tubes attached to a vertical wall. Fig. 2 is a side view of the same. Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view of thesame on the line 3-3, Fig. 2.
In embodying my invention in the form shown, I provide a rigid arm or guide 3, preferably of stiff wire, with a. screw 4 on one end for securing it rigidly and horizontally to a vertical wall, or, if preferred, invertical position to a table or other horizontal support.
On the outer or. it may be, upper end of the arm or guide I form, in this instance, a. hook 5 as a convenient means For holding firmlythe neck 6 of the ordinary collapsible tube 7, which neck the hook 5 clamps or em braces.
The bottom end of the tube 7 is here provided \vitlran ordinary key 3 for folding up, step by step, the tube and expelling the contents as desired for use.
As a simple and convenient means for holding the bottom end of the tube and at the same time permitting the key 8 to be turned for expelling thecontents of the tube, I mount to ride lengthwise on the guide 3, the loop or eye S) of a hanger .10, which straddles the tube and has bearings 11 and 12 on its ends in which the respective ends of the folding 'key 3 are mounted to turn. By this attachment. the tube can be fixed in any convenient position by means of the attachable guide 3, and when the key 3 is turned to expel the contents of the tube, the key-hanger 10 will travel along the guide as the tube is shortened.
Having thus described one form in which my invention is embodied. I claim as spirit:
In a supporting and expelling device for collapsible tubes, the combination, with a guide arm having a screw on one end and at the other end a fastener for the n ck of the collapsible tube, of a hanger havii'ig a medial eye riding lengthwise on the guide arm and end bearings in which the respective ends oi. the collapsing key rotate.
