SAMUEL H. ZINK, OF CROWDEB, ()KLAHOMA.
DOOR AND WINDOW EGURER.
ma am.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, SAMUEL H. ZINE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Crowder, in the county of Pittsburg and State of Oklahoma, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Door and Window Securers, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in a door securer, which also might be used as a window fastener, screw driver, button hook and cork screw, or in other words, a device providing a travelers companion, the main object being the provision of a device which can be readily carried in the pocket or suspended from a watch chain and which will provide all of the implements stated, such implements being capable of performing their separate functions in a thorough and practical manner.
WVith these objects in view, my invention consists of such a device, consisting of an open handle forming a case or holder and a series of implements adapted to be used by manipulation of the handle to perform their desired functions, and which when not in use will be folded into and protected by said open handle.
The invention further consists of a combination device embodying the implements stated, consisting in certain combinations and arrangements of parts for service, substantially as shown, described and particularly defined by the claims.
Figure 1 represents a perspective View of the complete device, the various implements being arranged to show their construction and arrangement with reference to the handle. Fig. 2 represents a view showing the manner of inserting the doorlocking implement between the casing and door, the parts being in the position they occupy before the door has been closed and fastened. Fig. 3 represents a similar view showing the door locked with the implement in proper position to efiect the fastening of the door. Fig. 4 represents a view taken at right angles to Fig. 3. Fig. 5 represents a front elevation showing my device in position for fastening the upper and lower window sashes, and Fig. 6 represents a similar view showing the parts in the position they assume when the sashes have been fastened by my device.
The device as a whole is of extremely simple construction, and consists of the open Specification of Letters Eatent.

frame or handle A, which carries at one end a hook or eye 33, for connecting the device to a chain or the like, the open ends of the handle being provided with points or barbs (J, the purpose of which will presently appear, and in said handle between the said open ends is mounted the pin D, upon which the various implements are mounted or pivoted. It is thus seen that 1 provide an open frame which provides a case forming the handle, and in the free ends of the handle, upon the pin 1), are mounted the cork-screw E, the button-hook F, the mem ber G, which serves as the door or window fastener having at its inner end the prong or point H, intermediate of its length the lug forming the stop or abutment J, at its outer end the barb K, and contiguous with said barb K, the hook L, disposed at a right angle to the member, while also mounted upon the pin D and disposed adjacent the member G, is the member M, formed at its inner end with the'screw driver N, and at its outer end with the angularly disposed stop or abutment O.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the drawings, it is evident that I provide a device which combines in a single article, a cork-screw, button-hook, screw-driver and door and window fastener, which implements when not in use will be folded into the handle and which can be opened after the manner of a knife with the inclosing handle providing a grasping means, and that each implement will perform its desired function in an eflioient and practical manner.
The manner of using the cork-screw, button-hook and screw-driver will be obviously apparent, but in using the device for fastening a door, it will be noted that the hook L, on member G, will be forced into the easing 1 of the door, while abutment J, will engage the casing, and stop or abutment O, on member M, will engage the door 2, thus as most clearly seen in Fig. 3, looking or fastening the door. The member G, when serving to lock the upper and lower sashes 3 and t, has its hooks or barbs K and H, engaging the upper and lower sashes, the pointed ends or barbs C, of the handle acting with said barbs K and H, to force said barbs into the upper and lower sashes, as will be readily understood from Figs. 5 and 6.
t is evident that I provide an article termediate abutment and an angular hook adjacent one of its barbed portions.
2. A door and window securer of the character described, the combination with an open frame having a pin connecting its ends, a member'mounted upon said pin and having" a' point at each end, and a pair of singularly disposed hooks disposed one near one end of the member and the other intermediate of said member.
3. The door and Window securer herein described,,consisting of the open frame having barbs at the ends, a pivot pin passing I through said ends, a member mounted on said pivot and formed with an angularly disposed stop, a longer member also pivoted on said pin having at its inner and outer ends a prong or barb, a hook contiguous SAMUEL H. ZINK.
