Beit known that l', GHARLLS 3L GOIMT'Y,` of Ii-ttsbnig', Allegheny county, and Stat@ O Pennsylvania, have invented a new and us()- ful Improvement in Hair-Pins, of which the following is a specification.
rlhe object or' my invention is to produce a pin which will maintain its position in the- `hair oi' the wearer, and my improvement con sists in combining` two hair-pins by uniting` them at their bent or looped end transversely to each other, bending them inward near theA middle of their length, and again bending` them outwardly, so that when inserted in the hair one portion may be inelosed within the space formed near the head of the pin, while the four points of the pin by their expansion pre vent it from being drawn ont readily.
In the accompanying drawings of my improved hair-pin the Shanks a are united at b by proper clamps or solder, and bent inward at c, so as to inelose a space, d, and form a neck, e.
