To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HENRY J. STUART, a citizen oi" the United States, residing at Derby, New Haven county, State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and uset'ul mprovements in Tab Ends, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention relates to an improved button tab end for hose supporters, the object being to provide a simple and effective means of connection between the button proper and the supporting tape whereby the necessity for sewing is avoided, and whereby no mechanical fastening is needed to insure the effective connection of said parts.
In the drawings Figure l is a front elevation relatively enlarged of my improved button tab end. Fig. 2 is a central vertical section.
l represents a button mounted upon a base plate or frame 2 having three transverse slots therein. One of these slots is above the button, while two of the slots are below the button, as best seen in Fig. 2.
3 represents the supporting tape which is threaded through the slots of the frame' in the following manner: through the up- 1 permost slot from the front to the rear, thence down to and through the intermediate slot from the rear `to the front,thence down to the lowermost slot from the front to the rear, thence down to and around the lower edge of the frame, thence up along the front of the frame and again through the intermediate slot from the front to the rear, the tip end terminating at the back of the frame and underneath a layer of the tape thereon.
What I claim is:
In a tab end, a base plate, a button mounted thereon, two transverse slots in said plate below said button, one transverse slot in said plate above said button and a tape threaded through said slots asfollows: through the uppermost slot from the front to the rear, thence down to and through the intermediate slot from the rear to the front, thence down to and through the lo'wermost slot from the front to the rear, thence down to and around the lower edge of the plate, thence up to and again throu h the intermediate slot from the front to t e rear, the tip end of the tape terminating at the rear of the frame between the uppermost slot and the intermediate slot.
