The practice of carrying an infant upon the arm is found to be a tiresome duty, particularly so in hot climates, and is to many women undoubtedly an injurious one, and zoccasionally liable to be hurtful to the child.
According to this invention the infant sling support consists of a shoulder strap of flexible material, adjustable longitudinally, the ends of which support at a distance approximately level with the Waist of the wearer a seat preferably of leather or'like strong and flexible material.
- For. the purpose of securing the child upon the seat a band is attached to the sling member which band is positioned-to take around the body of the infant, and is adjustable vertically. I Referring to the sheet of drawings depieting an infant sling support according to the present invention: Figure 1 is a perspective view. Fig. 2 a longitudinal sectional elevation, and Fig. 3 a transverse sectional elevation. 1
The sling member 5 of webbing, leather, or other like strong flexible material is adjustable longitudinally by means of the buckle 6. The-ends 7 of this sling member] 6 are each terminally provided Witha ring .Gopi es of this patent may be obtained for 8 to which are attached the double straps 9 the lower ends of which are attached to the 1 seat 10 of leather or other light strong flexible material. In use, the sling member 5 being in position upon one shoulder and the seat 10 po-' sitioned on'the opposite side of the wearers body and the infant" secured in: position v upon 'said seat by the band 11 it will be found that the child may be carried with greater ease than hitherto.
price within the scope of all pockets What we claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 2- p Furthermore, the construction of the sling support and materials composing same are such that the support canbe manufactured and sold at a An improved infant sling support com? prising in combination an adjustable shoulder strap, a seat for the infant dependent from the ends of said strap, and an adjustable-band to encircle the infant and loops attached to adjustable buckles onithe said shoulder strap through which said band is passed,as herein set forth.
