- Figure 2 is a. perspective view of. a. harness-hook Figure' is a detail perspective view of a separate hook for the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts. c
lhis invention relates to a new device for locking the lower ends of hames together and to the collar,
for the same.
The invention consists,1'st, in the use of a piroted loop, A, and spring lever B, which are, respectively,
' and also to a novel adjustable draft-hook 'attachment -pivoted to the lower ends of the haines 0C, as'shown.
The lever B has two or more projecting hooks, a a, ln either one of which the loop can be looked to regu- .late thereby'the width ofthe coller.
A spring, b, acts against one end of the lever to holdthe same closed..
Theinvention consists also in scouring the drafthook D to the fac-es of the humes. and in bending them backward, and in join'ting them. toreach the traces.
'.lhe'se hooks `have slotted shzinks ll d,\vhicl1 are, by Y menus of screws orholts e, secured to the llames. The slots permit the hooks to he adjusted vertically..
' Fig. 1 represents the draft-hooks adapted tbr henry work,I and runde rigid throughout.

Fig. 3 shows the Outerarm of a jointed hook, whose end is to be riveted to the traces. I l I By making the draft-hook adjustable, as described, and pull from the front, a proper center draft, which dqesnotvweary the horses, is provided.
Having thus described my invention,
I claim as ne'w and desire to secure by Letters Patent- I f 1. The arrangement, with respect to the linmes C C and lever B, of the rigid loop A, transversely pivoted and embracing `the front and back faces ot' both llames, as and for the purposes described.
