gentleman, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in and Relating to f; Tobacco-Pipe Fillers and Pouches for Use Therewith, specification. Y c

This invention relates to tobacco pipellers and pouchesv for use therewith, andhas for its object to provide simple means for effectively lling a pipe without the necesof which the following is a sity of the use of tobacco made up intoV cartridges.

According to the invention a pipe ller is provided consisting of a' cylindrical member having a cutting edge by which a pipeV charge may be cut from a packet or block of tobacco, and a' plunger fitting within Y `the cylindrical .member by which the sitions serving as a handle by which the cy- `charge may be pressed home intothe pipe bowl. Means are provided whereby the plunger may be retained in the rearward posit-ion or at-an intermediate position in the cylindrical member iny order to permit a full charge or small charge ofl tobacco to be cut as may be required, the vprojecting eX- tremity of the plunger in either of these polindrical member may be operated as a cutlter.

The plunger may be provided hollovv as a receptacle for matches or other articles and a` 'pin b4 may be carried in the head b1- for the purpose of cleaning pipes, -which pin, may be received into the plunger.'

A pipe filler, consisting of an openended cylinder member of a diameter corresponding to that or' the internal bore of a pipe, said cylinder member having a cutting `odge at one end adapted to receive and cut a charge of tobacco, a second cylinder member disposed Within the first cylinder member and adapted to act as a plunger, and means consisting ot a bayonet slot and pin for connecting the said cylinder members together so that pressure may be applied through the second cylinder member for cutting the charge and `filling it into the open end of the first cylinder member, said means permitting the disconnection of the respective cylinder members so that the' charge of tobacco cut and received into the open end of the first cylinder member may be discharged, by the movement of the sec ond cylinder member, into the bowl of the pipe, substantially as described.

2. A pipe filler, consisting of an openended cylinder member of a diameter corresponding to that of the internal bore of a pipe, said cylinder member having a cutting edge at one end adapted to receive and cut a charge of tobacco, a second cylinder member disposed Within the lirst cylinder member and adapted to act as a plunger7 means consisting of a bayonet slot and pin t'or connecting the said cylinder members together so that pressure may be applied through the second cylinder member for cutting the charge and illing it into the open end ot the lirst cylinder member, said means permitting the vdisconnection of the respective cylinder members so that the charge of tobacco cut and received into the' `open end of the iirst cylinder member may be discharged, by the movement of the second cylinder member, into the bowl of the pipe, and said means also permitting of cutting and producing charges of various size', substantially as described.

3.
