TICKET HOLDER.
APPLICATION FILED JUNE zo, 191s.

TICKET-HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent. Paftenftgd App 14, 19ML Application filed June 20, 1913. Serial No. 774,925.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES J. Worin, a# citizen of the United States, residing at El Paso; in the county of El Paso and State of Texas, have invented new and useful Improvements in Ticket-Holders, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to ticket holders, and particularly to a device for holding car tickets; and it has for its primary object the provision of a receptacle for containing the tickets and means for effecting a posi tive single delivery of the tickets.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts, as will be hereinafter described and claimed.
ln the accompanying drawings z-Figure 1 is a perspective view of the device; Fig. 2 is an inverted perspective view thereof; Fig. 3 is a transverse section therethrough; and Fig. 4 is a longitudinal section therethrough.
The device comprises a receptacle 1,which is provided with a main permanent bottom 2, a false bottom 3, side walls 4 and connecting end walls 5. One of the side walls is provided along its upper longitudinal edge with hinge knuckles 6 that are alined with similar hinge-knuckles 7 on a closure 8. A hinge pin 9 is extended through the alined knuckles so as to furnish a pivotal` support for the closure whereby the latter may be readily swung to open or closed positions. The opposite wall 4 has struck therefrom a resilient keeper 10, which is adapted to be projected into a keeper recess 11 in the flange 12 of the closure 8, whereby to hold the latter against opening accidentally.
The supplemental bottom 3 is provided along one of its sides with a vertical wall 13 having a fiange 14, which may be soldered or otherwise secured to the adjacent wall 4 of the receptacle. In this manner the wall 13 is spaced from the adjacent wall for a purpose to be hereinafter explained. At the opposite side, the bottom 3 is curved downwardly and forwardly, as at 15, and it is soldered to the extension 16 of the main bottoni. By curving the portion 15 as described the supplemental bottom is maintained in spaced relation to the main bottom so as to accommodate in the intervening space therebetween a slidable ejector 17.
' This ejector is provided withiangularly- 4bentends 18 and 19, the former `being terminally extended through a slot 182t in the bottom 3 and above the supplemental bottom for a distance equal to the single thickness of the tickets. Normally the portion 1S lies in the space between the wall 13 of the supplemental bottom and the adjacent wall 4 of the receptacle so that the ticket space 2O of the receptacle is uninterrupted to permit the tickets to be held in a flat condition upon the supplemental bottom where they may be singly engaged by the portion 18 when the ejector is moved in one direction. The opposite side wall 4 is provided with a. discharge slot 21, through which the tickets may be discharged as will be understood. The branch 19 is extended through a slot 22 in the main bottom. Said portion 19 is provided beneath the slot 22 with a nger engaging button 24 which may be engaged with the finger and which is adapted when pressure is applied thereto to cause the ej ector 17 to be advanced against the tickets and in the direction of the discharge slot 21. A follower plate 25 is mounted to slide freely in the ticket space 20 and as illustrated said follower carries a. spring 2G which has one of its ends freely engaged against the closure S so that under the action of the spring the follower is yieldingly held against the tickets.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the construction and operation of the invention will be readily understood without requiring a more extended explanation.
Various changes in the form, proportion and the minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the principle or sacrificing any of the advantages of this invention as claimed.
Having thus described lmy invention, what I claim is A ticket holder comprising a receptacle having a discharge slot, said receptacle having aI double-walled side and a doublewalled bottom, bot-h walls of the bottom having slots therein respectively extending in opposite directions; an ejector slid-- able in the space between the walls of said bottom and having a ticket engaging projection extending through the slot in one wall of the bottom and into the receptacle and movable in the direction of the discharge slot, one wall of said double walled and operable to hold the tickets in the path 10 of discharge movement of the ejector.
In testimony whereof I arix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
