To permit of the detachable mounting of the two-part frame there are pro ided at the outer end of its parts dowel pins 11' which are adapted to detachably engage in the holes 8 in the flange 7 5 at..oppoeite sides uiereof so that when the frame is placed in such position the ar ticle of furniture can be usedas a ladder, the parts of the frame 10 being formed with spaced cross rungs 12 forming as usual the steps in a ladde At one side edge of the parts of the frame 10 are outwardly projectingdowel pins 13 which are adapted to detachably engage in the holes 8 at one side and end of the seat bottom 5 for the use of the frame as a back rest for the chair.
From the foregoing it is thought that the construction and manner of operation of the device will be clearly understood, and thereforea-more extended explanation has been omitted.
