WINDOW-SHADE BRACKET.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ALBERT L. HENNES- SE1, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dunbar, in the county of Fayette and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Window-Shade Brackets, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in brackets for window shades and curtains and has for its object to provide a detachable bracket support adapted to be adjusted to window casings of varying widths.

Another object of the invention is to provide a shade bracket and window pole bracket supporting device adapted to be attached or detached to a window at will.

lVith the above and other objects in view I have invented the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which,

Figure 1 is a front elevational view of a window partially broken away showing the application of my invention secured thereto, Fig. 2 is a front elevational view of the device detached from the window, Fig. 3 is a rear elevation thereof, Fig. 4 is a section on line A -A of Fig. 3, and Fig. 5 is an enlarged detail view of a pole bracket.

Like reference characters indicate like parts throughout the specification and in the several views in the drawings in which 1 indicates a window having an upper casing 2 to which a bracket supporting member 3 may be secured. The member 3 is provided on its rear surface with a pair of transversely disposed jaws or clamping

4 and 5 each of which consists of a pair of telescopically disposed

toothed members

6 and 7 having longitudinally disposed slots 8. The members 6 are provided with right angular upper ends 9 having teeth 10 thereon which are adapted to engage the upper surface of the member 2; and the members 7 are provided with lower right angular ends 11 having thumb screws 12 threaded therethrough to impinge upon the under surface of the member 2 whereby the member 3 may be securely fixed to the window frame. By loosening the nuts 17 the

6 and 7 may be slidably moved upon one another to adjust the clamps to a proper width and when the said nuts are tightened upon the screws 13, the teeth 33 on the opposing surfaces of the

members

6 and 7 interlock and hold said members rigidly connected.

By the use of this device the window casing is not defaced by fixing brackets thereto and the window does not present an unsightly appearance when the shades and ourtains are removed as the entire fixture and brackets may all be removed at will and almost instantaneously.

Having now described my invention that which I claim to be new and desire to procure by Letters Patent is:

1. In a device of the kind described the combination of a bearing block, two slotted members, a rightangular offset formed upon one end of each slotted member, teeth formed on the edge of one of said offsets, said slotted members arranged to overlie each other, a longitudinal series of teeth formed upon each member arranged to intermesh, a screwbolt passing through said bearing block and both of said slotted members, and a jamnut engaging said screw-bolt and said block arranged to hold said members in mesh.
