Be it known that I, Cirnntns l. Becomes, acitizen of the United States, resichn at Newark, in the county of Wayne and htate a new and use of New York, have invented Receptacle, of whlch' the followful Paper 1ng is a specification.

This invention relates to paper receptacles. One object of theinvcntion is to provide an article of this character in which a novel, simple, and readily constructedform oi tastening means is provided for holding the cover locked relatively to the receptacle body and insuch manner as to preclude all danger .of accidental opening and which of unsettling or re easing when the cover is to be opened.

A further object is to arrange the fasten-- such manner as to cause it to perform the further function of a reinforce for the front wall ofthe receptaclato brace the-same against outward bulging and thus danger of disengagement of the parts With the above and other objects in view, as will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists of the novel construction and arrangement of parts of a fastener for paper receptacles, as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed. What is claimed is: A paper box embodying a cover having a tuck flap insertible within the opposite wall of the box, said flap'havinga' U-shaped slit terminating at the base of the flap to pro-' vide a tab foldable over the outer face of the said wall, the tab having an aperture at its butt end extending well into the. cover, and a metall c tongue having its buttend clenched to the inner face of the said wall with its tip promoting upwardly and adapted to pass lhrough the said aperture when the cover ielclosed, the tip of the tongue being bendable against the outer face of the said wall withithe said tab, and that portion of the aperture extending into the cover and the opening provided in the flap by the tab, permltting direct access to the butt end of the tongue, whereby the butt end and tip
