IMPROVED SCRUBBING-BBUSH.

To all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, DAMIAN MIXDERLE, oi'jSt. Louis, in the county o f St. Louis and State of Mis'- souri, have made certain new and useful Improvements in Scrubbing-Brushes; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and true description thereoi', reference being had to the accompanying. drawing and to the letters of referenoemarked thereon.

Secondly, this invention consists in the peculiar construction of the brush-board proper, as will hereinafter be more fully described.

To enable those herein skilled to'make and use my said invention, I willnow more fully describe.v

I construct'my improved brush of4 the body A, usually wood, having the curved heads or double wings B B.

Furthermore, said body A is properly narrowed in Vthe center in such manner as to form al1-accommodating hold, A', for the hand of the user. The hand of the user is thus also suiiicieutly protected, at the same time not interfering in the use ot' the brush, whilescrubbing with the same.

The general construction, form, or 'outline of the brush-board A is clearly shown in the figures.v

The brush-board A I provide with a proper series of holes, in which the u'sual bristle-brushes C are inserted, and secured, by wire fastenings, to the bodypiece, in the ordinary well-known manner. f In constructing the bodyA of the outline presented iu the figures, a large area of surface, for the insertion ot' the bristle-brushes G in each of the heads B B', is consequently attained. Thus strength and durability are secured to those parts of' the brush most subject t-o wear and use.

A layer or wooden covering, D, is secured. to the brush-board, as usual.- y

'A brush is thus constructed, of any size required by the trade, possessing advantages of lasting durability and economy, easily used, and most practically effective in scrubbing the sides and corners Without inconvenience to the hands of the user.
