Secured to veach side of the body portion crpad .1 approximately centrally thereof is a loop 15J: preferably formed from elastic material and such loop is so formed that the pull or strain thereon will impart a transverse pull through the medium oi" its approximately longitudinally disposed member 15 secured to the pad or body l adjacent the upper edge thereof while the upwardly inclined member 1G of the loop will exert an upward pull to the lower portion of the body or pad l, and it will be readily perceived from this arrangement that the pad will serve as a support for the abdomen in the nature of a shelf and that the pressure will be exerted upwardly or from beneath the abdomen which as is believed to be obvious is of great advantage hygienically,

The members l5 and 16 of the loop are integral and at the junction thereof is normally positioned the clasp 17 shown in the drawings as a snap clasp although this specific arrangement forms no particular part of the invention. Tvlhile the exact size of the loops 14C is not material, it is essential that the upper point as at 18, shall be a distance below the points of connection as at 19, of the waist bands 2 with the body portion or pad l, as it is by this arrangement that the proper pull or strain on the loops lei isV eiiected through the medium of the waist bands or strips 2.

In practice, the pad or body portion 1 is applied as shown in Fig. l oi the drawings and the waist bands or strips 2 are passed around the waist as at a and each baud or strip is caused to engage the clasp 17 on the side of the body portion or pad l opposite to the connection of the band with'the body portion and said bands are then brought back to the rear of the waist as indicated at o and tied in the usual manner as at o. By this arrangement it will be seen that by proper' pull on the bands 2 the desired or requisite strain may be given to the body portion or pad l and to the auxiliary pad 8 in order to eiieetually accomplish the functions desired. Y

Each of the bands 2 has secured thereto a depending member 20 capable of movement lengthwise of the band 2 and formed of textile material and to the lower end of this member 20 is secured a strap 22 adapted to engage the hose at a point adjacent the rear of the limb or at any other point that may be desired. By having the members capable of movement on the bands 2, it will be seen that these members 20 can be readily moved on the bands 2 to the required position after the pad has been applied, as is thought to be clearly apparent. Vhile these members 2O may be ot' any configuration it is particularly desired that they be of the form shown in the drawing wherein such members are flat and having their longitudinal edges arranged on converging lines.

Secured to the free edge of the auxiliary pad 8, and approximately centrally of the depending straps 9, 9 I have arranged an elastic tab'Qt, having secured thereto a strip 25 of textile material whereby a sanitary pad or the like can be conveniently se.- cured. And in order that such sanitary pad or other article may be conveniently carried when not in use I have provided on` certain of the depending straps elastic loops 2G surrounding one of such straps, herein shown as one ofthe straps 9, 9, ad jacent opposite ends thereof, these straps being capable of operation to receive such sanitary pad or the like and to hold the same thereto in a manner which is believed to be obvious.

From the'above descriptionpof my invention, it will be seen that the improved hose supporter constructedV in accordance with the same is of a simple and comparatively inexpensive nat-ure and is particularly well adapted for use by reason of the eiiectiveV support aiiorded to the abdominal parts and in view of the fact that the pressure on the abdomen is from below or upwardly and it will also be obvious from the above description that the-device is susceptible Aof some modification without material departure from the principles and spirit of the invention and for thisreason Ido not desire to be understood as limitingmyself to theprecise formationand arrangement of the several parts as herein set forth in carrying out my invention in practice.

Having thus described' my invention,V

what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A device of the character described having a body portion adapted to be extended across the abdomen, loops carried,by the sides of the body portion, hooks held by the loops, and a waist band secured to each side of the body portion, each of said bandsA being adapted to engage the 'hook ofV4 the j loop at the side portion of the body oppo-v site to the side portion to which it isV secured and of such a length as to permit tying to the other of said bands after engagement with the hook.
