My curtain and shade roller holder comprises a pair of mating holders respectively a left holder A and a right holder B suitable for being supported on the window casing C and provided with means for supporting a shade roller D and a curtain pole E.
The holders A and B differ only in such vfeatures as are necessary to adapt the holder A as a left holder and the holder B as a right holder, and to provide a symmetrical arrangement of the curtain and shade roller supporting members proper with reference to the window F and to provide a hole in the left holder A to hold the left end of the shade roller D and a slot- 16 in the right holder B to hold the right end thereof.
The holders A and B comprise each a body member 17 on which is removably mounted a curtain pole supporting member 1S and also on which is removably and adjnstably mounted a shade roller supporting member 19.. The body member 1.7 cornlnises, an elongated, laterally extending base 2.0V l that is rectangulai in formation.
.i A gnide plate 2,1 extends along the middle portion oli the said base 20 being separated itherefroin by spacing blocks. 22: and held?, in, position by rivets 23. which pass through the said guide plate 21, spacing blocks 22 and base 20:
i The guide plate 2.1i is provided with a lon-- gitudinat slot 2li? that extends tronithe outer Y end inward for the greater part tnt thelengtln of the said gaideplate 21. The oppnsed` edges. 25, at the slot, 2.4, overhang the sprich@ members 22` in the toria of flanges soy as to. partially close a relatively enlarged! opening lor Slot 26; within the bed-y member 17; he-
tween the spacing members 22.`
Theshade roller holder 19 is` formed ot sheet nietat and comprises a base portion 27 suitable for resting on the guide plate 17 and flanges 25 and having a hole 28 adjacent the middle portion. Anarm` 29. entends for l wardly from the inner end ot the base per tion 27 and is provided with the shade roller i" holding slot 1,-(5, in the oase ofy the lett meniiber A. and hole l5.- in the case ot the right member Ba At the outer end ot' the base portion. 2.7. there is a rearwardly extending head 30 i that a loose tit for. the slot 2G between the spacing members 22 and which is connected Ito the said outer end by a. neck 3l" that is a for the slot 24' in the guide plate 17. i A clampinor screw 32 has a body portion that is receivable in the hole 28 in the base portion 27 and also in the slot 24, and which has a square head 33 that is a fit for the relatively enlarged slot 25 and is non-rotative therein. A clamping nut 3ft engages with the body portion ot the screw 32.
The hole 28 is appreciably separated from the head 30 so that when the said head 30 and the head 33 of the screw 32 are engaged with the slot 26 the shade roller holder 19 is held non-rotatively positioned on the guide plate 17, even when the clamping nut 311 is loosened for the purpose ot' changing the position of the shade roller holder 19. lVhen the desired adjustment of spread 'or the shade roller holders 19 has been attained the clamping nut 34 is tightened and the holders 19 are thereby secured in the adjusted positions.
The base 20 extends appreciably above and below the guide plate 17 substantially in the form of flanges 35, and the said flanges are provided with holes 36 for supporting screws. The upper flange 35 is provided near the outer end with a hole 37 adjacent the outer edge and a hole 38 inwardly disposed relatively to the hole 37 and appreciably separated therefrom. The hole 37 is a fit for and suitable to receive a bolt or screw 39 having a nut 40 on the front end. The hole 38 is a fit for and suitable to receive the rearwardly Vdirectedtip end 41 of the supporting arm 42 of the curtain supporting member 18.' The said curtain supportingl member 18 is formed of a single piece of Vwire and which comprises the laterally directed supporting arm 42 at the inner end and having the rearwardly directedy tip end 41 already mentioned at the eXtreme inner tip end, and at the other end of the arm 42 wire is bent upwardly to form the upwardly directed member 43. From the upper end of the upwardly directed member 43 a branch arm 44 extends forwardly and from the forward end of which the finger 45 extends upwardly suitably to engage with t a `hole in the curtain pole E. The members 43, 44 and 45 constitute the curtain pole supporting member proper and the arm 42 serves as'the means for removably connecting the same to the vflange 35.` The said arm 42 is provided with a hole 55 that is a fit for the screw 39and' which is in registration f with the hole v37 when the tip end 41 is engagedwith the hole 38.
The wire of which the curtain supporting member 18 is made is preferably round f and the same is flattened as shown at 46 ad-` jacent the hole 55.
The screw 39 and nut 40 serve to posif tively holdthe arm 42 to the flange 35 and f Copies of this patent may be obtained for the tip end 41 engaged with the hole' 38 serves as a stud or positioningpin to oooperate to position the same and prevent rotative movement of the curtain supporting member 18.
As described the curtain supporting member is made of a single piece of round wire and is removably secured to the body ortion by Va single screw, and the shade roller holder is both removably and adjustably se- .cured to the said body portion by a single screw and both the curtain holder and shade roller holder are provided with means that coperate with the screw elements to posi* tion the said holders particularly against being turned from the normal positions.
I claim as my invention A curtain supporter comprising a body portion having a flange at the upper edge and serving as a supporting flange, the said able'spaoe, a curtain'holder formed of a flange being provided with a pair of holes .that are separated laterally by an apprecisingle piece of wire comprising a curtain `jsupporting member at one end and a supporting arm at the other end, the free end ofthe said supporting arm being bent rearwardly suitably to engage with one of the vsaid holes when t-he said arm is positioned in front of the said upper flange, and the said arm being provided with a hole that is in registration with the other of the said holes in the upper flange, and holding means engaged with the said holes that are in registration.
