To all floLo/m, 'EZ muy concern le lit known that l, Danna. lain, a citizen ot the United States, residing;` at (lhester7 in the county ot Delaware and State ot Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful lmprovennints in Line-i lolders for llricldayers7 Use, oi which the followingr a specification.
illy invention relates to improvements 'in line holdersI for brieklayers use, the object: oit the invention being to provide a simple, inexpensive device which by reason oi the tension on the cord, will maintain itself in position on the corner wall, and will dispense with the necessity oit forcing the ordinary pin into the mortar between the bricks.
A further object is to provide an irnproved device ot this character which enables a clear view oit the angle oir the wall, and which may be quickly adjusted as the rows of brick are laid.
lVith these and other objects in view, the invention consists in certain novel :features ot construction and combiiiations and arrangements of parts, as will be more t'ully hereinat'ter described and pointed out in the claim.

My improved line holder 'l comprises a casting preferably of some strong durable and relatively light metal, which is made with two curved arms 2, 2, each arm having at its free edge, an enlarged bearing face 3. This bearing` face 3 is formed by extendingT the casting above and below the arni as seen most clearly in Fig. 3, and is. as a matter oit fact, a plate with a milled or otherwise roughened surtace having a central cord receiving' groove i- The curved arms 2 are integral with the body portion Il of the device, and an integral arm 5 ex tends rearwardly from the body ot' the device, and preferably bows downward at its point ol juncture with the body as seen at (3. The arln 5 is sharpened so that where no corners are to be had, this arm may be used as a pin and, iorced into the motar betwveen the bricks.
Various slight changes might be `made in the general torni and arrangnnnent ot parts described without departing' 'troni my invention, and hence l do not limit myself to the precise details set forth, but consider mysel't at liberty to make such changes and alterations as 'lairly 'tall within the spirit. and scope oil? the appended claim.
