HENRY DOMBRINK, OF OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA.
SAFETY-RAZOR-FRAME CLEANER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Apr. 15, 1913.
Application filed September 25, 1911. Serial No. 651,145.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HENRY DoMBRINK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Oakland, in the county of Alameda and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Safety- Razor-Frame Cleaners, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to devices for removing lather foam from the frame which carries safety razor blades and the principal object of the same is toprovide a device which will thoroughly cleanse the frame and at the same time a metal construction so constructed that the brush that removes the lather from the frame may be removed when desired.
This device comprises a frame which is formed from sheet metal and which is bent to form a body portion having brush carrying arms extending therefrom between which a rod extends. The blade carrying frame is mounted upon the rod which is worked back and forth so that the blades of the frame will pass through the bristles of the brush and remove all the lather from between the teeth.
This invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein:
Figure 1 isa side elevation of the device. Fig. 2, is an end elevation of the device looking from the end in which the razor in Fig. 1 is pointed. Fig. 3, is a top plan view.
Referring to the accompanying drawings it will be seen that this invention comprises a frame which has a centrally located handle formed with the arms 10 and 11 which are placed parallel to each other and which are curved to form a convenient meansfor holding the device. Arms 12 and 13 extend from the outer end of the handle and have other outer portions 14 bent away from the handle and parallel to each other.
A brush carrying frame is formed at the outer end of the frames 14.- and comprises clamps 15 which are connected together by the cross bars 16 and 17 being formed integral with the frame 14. The clamps 15 are bent around the brush 18 and hold the brush from moving when the device is being used but do not prevent the brush from being removed when it is desired to change the blades as the brush can be drawn out from the side of the frame.
A rod 19 is connected with the handle and extends between the bars 14 to a point beyond the brush-carrying frames so that the razor can be conveniently mounted upon the rod.
This device is used with a razor which has a horizontal stem 20 and a large rectangular head 21 which has teeth 22 in its longitudinal arrangement.
When using this device the razor is placed upon the rod 19 and moved toward the handles, the rod passing through the stem 20. This brings the head in contact with the bristles 23 of the brush so that the bristles pass through the teeth 22, thus removing the lather from the teeth.
What I claim is:
A device of the character described, comprising a frame formed from sheet metal and having its side portions bent to form parallel arms forming a handle, arms extending from the ends of said frame and parallel to each other, a cross bar extending from the outer end of each of the said arms, a clamp at end of said bar, a second cross bar connecting said clamps a rod extending from said frame and parallel to said arms and therebetween.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
HENRY DOMBRINK.
