which the following is a specication.

This invention relates to improvements in hose supporters and the primary object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which is simple in construction, comprising few parts which may be easily and quickly positioned to support the hose, and which is provided with means whereby the-metallic hose securing member is prevented from contacting the skin or under garments of the wearer. I

With the above objects in view, and others which will appear as the nature of the description progresses, the invention resides in the novel construction and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described and In the accompanying drawings-Figure l is a perspective view of a hose supporter constructed in accordance with the present invention. The improvement contemplates the employment of the usual elastic band which is adapted to encircle thev limb of the wearer. The band l has one of its ends. provided with the usual loop "2, the same in the present instance comprising a flat body portion and the projecting loop proper. The loop,A is, of course, arranged upon the end of the band 1 which is turned upon itself and which is provided with a slidable buckle 3, whereby the band may be adjusted as delsired.

The numeral 4 designates the' garment engaging element. This element is constructed of a single piece of flat material7 having its sides angular and one of the upper edges of the said sidesbeing provided with-a slot 5 to which the end of the band l opposite that provided by the loop 2 is secured. The opposite edge of the said member 4 is slitted and the material provided by the said slit is bent upwardly to form a catch 6, the latter adapted to engage with the loop 2 of the band l. The member 4 is centrally provided with a substantially r shaped slit or opening 7, the upper and larger portion of the said opening being extended in the form of a V as clearly illustrated in Fig. l of the drawings. This slot 7 is adapted ,to receive and to retain the hose upon the device.- The upper horizont-al edge of the member 4 is slitted to provide for the reception of a helical spring 8. This spring is also connected with a shield member 9, and the said spring is adapted to normally force the member 4 against the flexible shield. The shield may be of any desired textile material and construction, the illustration in the drawing being heart shaped, and thesaid shield is adapted to protect the metallic securing element 4, as well as the metallic loop 2 from contacting the under clothing or flesh of the person to whom the devicevis attached.

Having thus fully described the said invention, what l claim is l. In a device for the purpose set forth,

the combination with an 'elastic band, carry-` ing an engaging loop at one end of a garment engaging member, said garment engaging member comprising a flat metallic member having angular side edges, one of said edges being provided with an opening adapted to receive one end of the elastic band, the opposite edge of the s aid member being slitted and the metal provided by the slit being bent to form a catch, said catch adapted to engage the loop provided upon the band. the body of the member being formed with a substantially V-shaped slit and provided with a shield covering its under surface and a spring member hingedly connecting the garment engaging member with the said shield and adapted tonormally force the garment engaging member against the shield.
