Description

F. H. ESCHERIGH.
NURSING BOTTLE HOLDER. APPLICATION FILED MAY 2 Patented Oct. 8
FRANCIS H. ESCHERICH, OF WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA.
NURSING-BOTTLE HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 8, 1912.
Application filed May 29, 1912. Serial No. 700,435.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANCIS H. ESCH- ERICH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Vashington, District of Columbia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Nursing-Bottle Holders, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in nursing bottle holders, and more particularly to that class adapted to support a nursing bottle in a convenient po-. sition above a high-chair, crib or the like, within the easy reach of the child resting therein.
An object of this invention is the provision of a holder such as described which employs the use of a spring locking clamp adapted to yieldingly engage a bottle and support the same in its proper position against any undesired vertical, lateral or longitudinal displacement.
Another object of this invention is the provision of a nursing bottle holder which can be adjusted to any desired position, relative to its support.
Still another object of this invention is the provision of a nursing bktlll; holder of an extensible type, which can we lengthened or shortened to accommodate bottles of va-' rious sizes.
A further object of this invention is to im rove and simplify devices of this nature, WlllCh will be comparatively simple and inexpensive to manufacture, reliable and efficient inuse and readily operated.-
lVith the above and other objects in view, this invention resides in the novel features of construction formations, combinations, and arrangements of parts to be hereinafter more fully described, claimed and illustrated in the, accompanying drawings in which Figure 1. is a side elevation of my invention. Fig. 2. is a to plan view thereof. Fig. 3. is a longitudina sectional view thereof. Fig. i. is a detail View of one of the attaching clamps, Fig. 5. is a rear elevation with arts broken away.
Re erring to the accompanying drawing by similar characters ofreference, the nu meral 10 denotes in general m improved nursing bottle holder, compris ng a main standard 11, which is slidably located in the spaced alining eyes 12 formed u on a clamp 13, by means of which the ho der can be attached to a suitable support such as a high-chair, carriage, crib, or the like. One of the eyes is formed with a threaded opening, through which a set screw 14 is passed to retain the standard in its various adjusted positions.
A swlnging arm 15 is pivoted to the upper end of the standard 11, and locked against movement by the winged nut 16, which is threaded on the pivot bolt 17, and riveted to this arm 15 is-an arcuate plate 18 arranged to form a rest for the bottle 19. A similar plate 20 rests in the channel formed by the concaved face of the plate 18, and has projecting from its lower side in longitudinal alinement, a pair of spaced studs 21, which project through a slot 22 formed in the plate 18. One of these studs is threaded while the other is formed with a T head 23 which overlaps the opposite edges of the slot 22 and holds the two plates against displacement. A winged nut 24 is threaded on one of the said studs, while in order to provide for the disconnection of the plates the end of the slot 22 is enlarged as at 25 to permit of the passage of the head 23 therethrough. This construction permits the plates to be lengthened to accommodate the bottles of various sizes.
A strap 26 is connected to the outer end of the plate 20 and produces a oke for reception of the neck of the bott e, while secured to the opposite end of the plate 18 is.
aspring clamp 27, the opposite arms 28 of which are curved upwardly, rcarwardly and inwardly to grasp the base of the bottle and hold the same against any upward or rearward displacement.
Special attention is called to the specific construction of the arms 28. It should be noticed that they are curved over the rear end of the bottle and spaced apart to produce a converging uide way 29, which when the neck of t e bottle is inserted through the yoke, and pressure exerted upon the opposite end thereof, the said arms'will be forced outwardly and the bottle securely clamped against undesired displacement by the said arms 28 which by their resiliency will firmly rasp the opposite sides and rear end of the ottle.
It should be understood in this connection, that various minor changes in the dc tails of construction can be resorted to with in the scope of the appended claim, without departing from or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.
From the foregoing it will be manifest that a nursing bottle holder is provided which Will fulfil all the necessary requirements of such a device,
Having thus fully described this inven tion, what I claim as new and desire to pro tect by Letters Patent is In a nursin bottle, the combination with a standard, 0% a clamp rotatable and slidable thereon, means for rendering the clamp rigid upon the standard, an arm pivoted to the standard, means for rendering said arm rigid relative to the standard, a plate secured to said am, a second plate adjustable memes
