APPLICATION FILED MAY 1'7, 1911.
Patented Sept. 10,1912.

'Beit known that I, PETER MIVEGE, a
'i'UN ITEDs ATns} rarer. m. ween,
PATENTOFFICE.
or maltm'r'ra, OHIO, .A conronanoit or cure; I
column snar m rsiamroiii f citizen of: .the United States, residing at Marietta, in the county of Washington and State of Ohio, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Combined Shelves and Partitions, of which the following is a specification.
. The ob ect of this'invention'isto provide a combined shelf and partition more espe-:
cially for sheet metal cabinets, cases and the like, it being my particularaim to makethese of simple and economical construction and so that the partition -while readily moved or adjusted by proper manipulation shall be comparatively rigid and not liable .to have its position disturbed in the ordinary use of the cabinet.
' The invention is embodied in the con' struction herein shown and set forth and then particularly pointed out-in the claim.-
' In the accompanying drawing Figure 1 is a front view of a cabinet of the kind in which such a shelf and partition may be employed said view illustrating the cabinet "broken out horizontally at the middle and I with the upper portions of the doors removed. In this view the edges of twopan titions and a shelf in the upper portion of the cabinet are also shown as broken out.
Fig. 2 is a'perspective. view on a larger scale of fractions of a shelf and ,partition to illustrate the details of the construction.
'. Fig. 3 is a vertical, sectionalso .on a larger wardly and inwardly to form a rightan led groove 6. At its rear edge the margin is first bent and folded upon itself to form a tongue 7 and then downwardly and inwardly to form a right an led groove 8. The body of the partition w ich is also of Specification Letter; meat Patented Sept. 10,1912. Application med Kay 17, 1511. Serial lie-827,558. I I I of, thed mietal "form ng the partition is bent ifirstihorizontallyas seen at 10 then verti-' pressure against the corresponding walls of the groove. v-'lhis's'prijng pressureserves to.
grooves 6 and 8 as best shown in F g.
keep the partition atthe.placeto which it is adjusted until the partition is manipulated with an intelligent pressure applied neaifto the. tongue to, move it to the right orl of the cabinet by any suitable manner as for example in horizontally extendmg grooves such as shown at- 13 made inthe end and rear walls.
I do not confine myself to-vthe' exact 'proportions of the parts herein shown or described as they can be modified without 'departing from the gist of the invention.
What I claim is:
In a cabinet of the kind indicated, the, combination with a sheet metal shelf formed at its lower side with grooves at its front" and rear edges, of a partition of sheet metal havin at its upper edge a hollowtonguje including substantially horizontal walls and a all connecting them one of said walls being free to be sprung toward the other,
said tongue projecting at its ends w enter and engage the. aforesaid grooves.
