To all whom it may concern.

Be it known that I, CHARLES J AMES, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cambridge, in the county of Guernsey and State of Ohio, have invented anew and useful Dust-Proof and Fireproof Receptacle for Moving-Picture Films, of which the following is aspecification.

My invention relates to improvements in receptacles for moving picture films and has for its ob ects, first :to provide a dust-'- proof receptacle for moving picture films,

which protects the films l rom dust and from, which the films can beeasily and convenient ly removed, in the, order inc-which they are to be exhibited, and thus avoid the ,usual contusion and delay, in selecting-the parprotected from destruction by fire which 'frejquently starts durin" the operation of ticular' film desired; and second :-to prot'ide afire-proof receptacle whereby the films, which are highly inflammable, are

The double walls a a are composedof rolled steel, sheet iron, or cast iron, and are separated by an intervening space of 2 inches, which is filled with a mixture, of asbestos, carbonate of soda,in the following I proportions :two parts asbestos and one part carbonate of soda.

The lid Z, is formed with beveled edge e, in order that it may be held more firmly in place when closed.

The door (Z, is constructed with a lap which" fits closely to the exterior of the side of the receptacle and prevents any water or' dust .from entering at that point.

' I claim:

The'combi'nation in a receptacle 'for mov- .ing picture films, constructed with doublev walls throughout,- and rendered fire-proof by any; substance that is a non-conductor of heat placed between said walls, said receptacle being supplied with a lid at the top and door at the bottom, which close auto- .matically and are held firmly closed by means of strong spring hinges, substantially as shown, for the purposes specified.
