RICHARD E. SWEZEY, OF PATCHOGUE, NEW YORK.
SHADE-FIXTURE.
To all w/wm t may concern.'
Be it known that I, RICHARD E. SwEzEY, citizen of the United States, residing at Patchogue, in the county of Suffolk and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Shade-Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to shade roller brackets and it consists of a new and novel arrangement of the bracket whereby a curtain fixture may be attached to same to carry a curtain pole as will be more fully described in the following specification, set forth in the claim and illustrated in the drawings, wherein,
Figure 1 is a side elevation of same. Fig. 2 is a similar view partly in section. Fig. 3 is a front view of a pair of bracket-s in use.
The shaped roller bracket consists of a plate 5 with a screw stem 6, adapted to be screwed into the wood-work of the window frame. One of the plates 5 has a perforation 7 while the companion plate is provided with a slot 8 into which is fit-ted the squared stud of the shade roller, while the rounded stud iits in the perforation 7 Adjacent to the plate 5 and on the screw 6 is a vertical plate 9, adapted to fit against the wood-work of the frame. This plate may be permanently attached or used as a separate piece with a perforation through which the screw passes. At the upper and lower' ends of this plate are sockets 10 and 11 adapted to receivethe ends 12 of a Curtain bracket 18, having at its outer end the circular receptacle 14 to receive the pole. The downwardly extending portion 13 of the curtain bracket 13 is secured at its outer end to the underneath portion of the circular receptacle 14 while the inner end l2 thereof is inserted within the lower socket 11 of the plate. After the shade roller brackets have been properly positioned to Specification of Letters Patent.

each side of the window frame and when it is desired to dispense with the curtain, the bracket 13 may be removed wit-hout the necessity for the use of nails or screws. This act may be quickly performed or the bracket may again be replaced at any time that it is desired to again use curtains in connection with the window shade.
It is obvious that the shape and construction of the parts of this device may be otherwise modified without departing from the essential features above described.
Vhat I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is,-
In a curtain fixture, the combination of a perforated plate provided wit-h sockets disposed at the upper and lower ends thereof and adapted to receive curtain brackets, a shade roller bracket passing through a perforation of the plate and engaging with a portion of the curtain brackets whereby preventing any accidental vertical movement of the said curtain brackets.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
RICHARD E. SWEZEY.
