IMPROVEMENT InWARP-STAND roRLooM.
`The lSchedine referred to in theseLettex-s Patent and making part of the same.'
To all whom 'it may concern: l
Be it known that I, PHILANCY D. TIFFT, of Eagle.- ville, in the county of lVood and in the State of Ohio,
have `invented certain new and useful Improvements in Warp-Stands; and do hereby declare that the fol.-
lowing is a full, clear, and exactdescription thereof',
reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to-the letters of reference marked thereon making apart of this'specificat-ion.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction and general arrangement of a warp-stand to be placed in front of the loops. y
In order toenable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same,I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referringto the annexed drawings, 'in which- Figure 1 is a side elevation, and i Figure 2, aplan view of my machine.
A represents the standjor frame, restin'g on suitable legs, having casters underneath, so that lit 'can be moved readily wherever wanted.Y
This stand is made in the shape of ahox, havin two lids, B B, hinged to .thestand and folding outward, as seen `in the drawings.
One of these lidsis provided with a guide, D, 'or
holding the front ends of the. wire plates O C, which contain the bobbins or quills. The other lid is pro- Vvided with a series of buttons,E E, for holding the hack ends ot'- the wire plates C C.' Any desired number ot' plates maybe putl on the stand, as needed. On the guideD is placed a. series of upright wire guides or loops, a a, through which is passed a rod, G, for keeping the warpand bobbins in place while placing the harness and reed in the loom.
In front of the guide.D,.near the outer end of the lid, is secured a grooved block, F, in which the reed J is placed.
On the sides of the stand A are placed slides I,on the outerends of which are placed the holders or guides H H for the harness K;
The stand thus constructed is to be placed iu front of the loom, the harness` and reed put in the loom, the warp tied to the stick on warp-roller. andA drawn on, then tied to the stick on the cloth-roller, and it is ready to work.
`Wheuthe warp is drawn oil1 the stand, the wire orr bobbiu-plates C C are to be placed inside the stand; the ,harness-holders or guides H H also inside the stand;. the slides I I'moved back even with the stand, and the stand shut up.
Havingthus fully described my invention,
W'hat I claim as new, and desire to secure hyLet ters Patent, is'- v 1. The stand A, providel with outwardly-folding lids B B, and with the slides I, supporting the harness-holders or. guides H, substantially as herein set forth.r v
\ 2. 'lhe wire or bobhin-plates C C, held on the lids l B B by means of the guide D and buttons E E, sub-4 stantially as shown and described. Y
3. The combination aud'arrangement of the stand A, lids B B, plates C C, buttons E E, guide D, rod G, slides I I, and harness-holders or guides H H, all constructed -substantially as and for `the purposes herein set forth.
g In testimony t-hat\l claim the lbregoing,l have hereunto set my hand this `9th day of September,- 1869. 'l P. D. TIFFT.
