Specification of Letters Patent.- Application filed September 19, 1911.
Patented May 28,1912. Serial nojesazse.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HARRIS Roenas, a citizen of'the United States, residing at 153 linton avenue, Albany, in the county of Albany and State of New York,-have invented certain new and useful Improvements Trousers, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to trousers and the object of my invention is to construct gen- 7 concealed poeketsat theto and with other improvements which I Wil described later in the specification. I obtain these objects by means of trousers constructed as shown in the accompan ing drawingwhich is a perspective view 0 trousers with the concealed pockets shown in dotted lines.
Similar letters refer to throughout the several views.
The trousers "are constructed as shown similar parts represents the trouser le represents the belt which is of the same material as the trousers and need not extend all the way around but may simply. com mence at each "side'with the loose end and buckle infront, as shown The belt B may also be made in two sections, one section so fastened to the b trousers at different points and up the slack in the b trousers. I The trouser and tinder the place where the is an opening 0 to the pocket D, shown by dotted lines. e opemng. C to the pocket is so arranged that when the belt is buckled it will completely conceal the opening to the pocket and render the visible. Inside thb pocket'D isarranged a small cash pocket E. There may be two pockets, one for each trouserleg. To more conceal the pocket and for a safeguar against the pocket. being picked I \F to the outside of the pocket in which valuables are liable to be carried and extend it up over the top band of the trousers and fasten it on the inside by a button or in any. suitable manner. Constructed in this way, the trousers will have all the appearances of neatness and smoothness as any tailor-made trousers.
The pockets being in the front with the opening under the belt are not liable to be ulged out by the wearer carrying his hands in his pockets and the opening of the pockets concealed under the belt is a safety and protection against pockets being picked and also from the loss of valuables.
hat I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is,
1. An article of manufacture consisting of a pair of trousers a belt of the same material covering the band thereof and attached thereto at various points, pockets in the front of said trousers, openings to said pockets in theband the belt, one of said the opening thereof and over the top of the band of the trousers, and means for fastening said flap to the inside of the band next the body of the wearer.
An articleof manufacture consisting of a pair of trousers,- a belt attached thereto, said belt being in two sections, one end of each section attached to the side of the trouser and the loose ends coming together in the front, pockets on the trousers'in the front,o enings to the pockets located in the band of the trousers where they will be having a fia of the outsi e from the pocket over the opening thereof and under the belt over the top of the band of the trousers and adapted to be fastened to the inner side of the band next to the body of the wearer.
In testimony whereof- I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
