The Schedule referred to :in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all. whom it may concern Be it known that I., SAMUEL KENNEDY, of Rochester,'in the county of Beaver and State of' Pennsylvania, have invented a new' and useful Improvement in Combination Boot-jacks; and I do hereby declare that the following is afull, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art `to make and use the saine, reference being had to the accompanying drawing .ibrming part of this specification.
` The object of this invention is Atocombine in a small' space a boot-jack, blacking-brush, and blacking-box, so' that the necessary apparatus for removing the boot from the foot, and blacking it, may be always together, and more portable than they` usually are; and it con sists in the construction, arrangement, and combination hereinafter described.

This fork may be made stationary with 'the back, and form a. part of the bIacking-box, as seen in g. l,
or it may be pivoted to the back, so that it may be turned round onto the vhack, thereby rendering the boot-jack more. portable than it otherwise would be.
(ll is the Hacking-box, which forms the bridge of the bootjack, which is fastened to the back A, as seen in fig. 1.

1 am .aware that .articles of'thisfkind have been manufactured heretofore, but thefconstruction of parts was diii'erent, and failed to produce an article so well adapted to the purpose as inyimprored 'boot-jack and brush. K
