To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EDWARD S. JONES, of Columbus, county of Bartholomew, and State of Indiana, have invented a certain useful Shaving-Brush; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.

The object of this invention is t0 provide a shaving brush.

The nature of the invention will be understood from t-he accompanying drawings and the following description and claims.

In the drawings Figure 1 is a longitudinal central section of one form oiu said shaving brush. Fig. 2 is a section on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a section of a modified iorm of said brush. Fig. 4 is a section on the line 4-11 of Fig. 3.

In the drawings 10 represents the brush Fibers which are secured by a hard rubber hand 11 to a head 12. The handle 13 of the brush is hollow and secured to the head 12 at one end and provided with an opening 14 at the other end.

15 is an antiseptic tablet or material which is held in the hollow of the handle so that it cannot escape therefrom and yet may be brought in contact with the water in the shaving mug so as to render the same antiseptic.

In the form shown in Fig. 1 the antiseptic material 15 is held by a pair of looped springs 17 which are secured at their lower ends in the head 12 of the brush and which spread apart somewhat at their upper ends. Y

In the form shown in Fig. 3 the band 3l for holding the bristles 30 is internally threaded and screws upon an externally threaded extension of the handle 33. There are two chambers, one on each side of a partition 39. The antiseptic material 35 is held in place against the bottom ot' the outer chamber by means of a removable or loose spring 110, one end of which bears against said antiseptic and the other against the inside of the handle which surrounds the hole 34. Said spring is helical and the outer end which bears against the handle is wider than the hole 34 therethrough, thus tending to prevent the escape of the antiseptic eXcept as it is dissolved. It may be removed, however, by contracting the outer end of said spring and withdrawing it from the handle.

I claim as my invent-ion:

1. A shaving brush having a hollow handle closed at one end adapted to receive a solid antiseptic body and open at the other end, and a spring entirely within said handle for holding said antiseptic body therein and away from said opening.

2. A shaving brush having a hollow handle open at one end, and a pair of oppositely positioned spring loops secured within the handle and projecting therein toward the open end and adapted to hold antiseptic material between them, away from the opening and the wall of the hollow handle.
