This invention relates to an improved narrow fabric, and more particularly to a woven strap adaptable for use in the manufacture of suspenders,-the object of the invention being to so construct awoven strap member that it shall possess adequate strength and durability; so that it shall be neat in appearance, and so that all protuberances on the surface of the fabric member shall be avoided.

With this object in view, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction as hereinafter set forth and pointed out in the claims.

In weaving a suspender member, 1 cmploy a reed of the fan type whereby I am enabled to so weave the member or strap that the same may be given different widths in difi'erent parts. Thus, in weaving a sus ponder end, I may weave the bod r V 1 of a given width and the ends 2 in which the button holes 3 are woven, of a greater width, or I may weave a wide body portion and narrower ends. Again, in order to reinforce those portions below the hutton holes, the fabric of the strap will be woven with an increased amount of filling.
