2 is the tobacco receptacle having a top and bottom 3 and 4 respectively, the former having a suitable opening 5therein through which the tobacco is inserted and a sliding cover 6 ada ted to close the said opening when desired 7 is an inner partition in the device and in reality one side of the tobacco receptacle proper; it extends from top to bottom of the receptacle and marks one termination of these portions, the other side of the receptacle being indicated by the numeral 8'; An aperture 9 is provided in the partition or side 7 through which tobacco may be forced in a manner to be hereinafter described.

Hinged to the top of the receptacle as at 10 is a member 11, for which the partition 7 serves normally as a cover, approximately oblong in shape but having the end that is secured adjacent the bottom of the receptacle of somewhat greater depth than the end adjacent the top. When in closed position the longest side of this device lies. in a plane parallel with the plane of the side 8 of the receptacle and is of the same length as that side. The deeper end of this attachment isheld adjacent the bottom. 4. through the medium of suitable clips 12 secured to said bottom and when released from these clips the entire attachment is adapted to' swing away from the receptacle proper on its hingesas shown in dotted lines in Fig. 2. This attachment is intended as a pipe receptac'le and has provided upon the inner surface of its longest side near the deeper end a spring pipe seat 13 adapted torece'ive the bowl of a ipe and retain-the same in an upright position. In this position the top 'of the pipe bowl comes directly beneath the aperture 9 in the partition or side 7 of the tobacco receptacle. A sliding cover 15 arranged upon the inner surface of the partition 7 afiords ameans of closing the aperture 9 and said cover works through a suit- Y able aperture provided in the bottom of the receptacle through which it projects. An inner clip 16 secured upon the under surface of the partition 7 projects down into the attachment and serves'to hold the pipe bowl against longitudinal movement. To

Extending in-a zigzag manner from the side 8 of the receptacle to the bottom is a partition 17 comprising a seat 18 parallel with theside 8 and provided with an aperture directly opposite the aperture 9 in the partition 7 and also in almement with a similar aperture in the side 8 and aplunger 19 extends through the last named aperture and through the aperture in the seat 1.8 and terminates when in normal position directly above the aperture9 of the partition 7. A spring 20 within the receptacle has one ex.- tremity secured to the plunger and the other to the seat'18, its purpose being to. keep the lower or inner end of the said plunger the minimum distance from the said seat. By depressing the plunger manually a portion of the tobacco betweenv the same and the aperture 9 is, after the cover 15 has been withdrawn,-forced into the bowl of the pipe. By removing spring will raw the same into againready to force more tobacco mto the ressure from the plunger the osition said attachment.

The combination with a tobacco receptacle having apertures diametrically opposed in the sides thereof, of an attachment hinged by one end to the top of the said receptacle havingits opposite end normally in alinementwiththe aforesaid apertures, clips secured to the bottom thereof, a zigzag partition having an aperture in alinement with the aforesaid apertures and a plunger suitably secured within the receptacle and adapted for operation inthe said apertures.

3. The combination with a tobacco receptac'le having apertures in the sides thereof diametrically" opposed, of an attachment hinged by one end to the top of the said receptacle having its opposite end normally in alinement with the aforesaid apertures,-
