Винахід стосується способу одержання відновлювального газу для відновлення залізної руди шляхом охолодження і сухого знепилення генераторного газу (20), отриманого у плавильному газифікаторі (3) для виготовлення чавуну, а також пристрою для здійснення способу. При цьому генераторний газ (20) після його виведення з плавильного газифікатора (20) і перед його сухим знепиленням охолоджують як вприскуванням води, так і теплообміном.
