在一些實施例中,多個圓點各自由透明材料製成且與鄰近圓點相隔0.1mm與10mm之間的距離。較佳地,多個圓點以柵格或其他圖案佈置以便於使用、便於製造以及改良觀看者之視角同時提供其他透明似水晶的觀看體驗。
該膜亦可包括微粒,該等微粒以有效地用於為該窗提供防眩光及防靜電效應之量黏附至該透明窗之前側。在一個實施例中,微粒以一密度存在於該膜之背側上,該密度足夠高以輔助提供防靜電效應而不會不利地影響透過該窗觀看之圖像的品質。

本發明係關於一種新穎之觸控螢幕保護器,其包括一膜(宜為塑膠膜)以及沿著該膜之外周邊提供之暴露的黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合。不同於與觸控螢幕直接實體接觸之大多數先前技術觸控螢幕保護器,本發明之觸控螢幕保護器不觸碰觸控螢幕之可操作部分。此部分在本文中稱作「觸控螢幕部分」。本發明之此重要特徵使螢幕保護器100%無氣泡成為可能。
儘管在裝置之間變化,但觸控螢幕保護器與手持式裝置之觸控螢幕部分之間的距離由黏合劑之厚度來決定,其小於該膜之厚度。在一較佳實施例中,本發明之黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合之厚度小於膜厚度,且該厚度介於約0.05mm與約1mm之間,且較佳約0.05mm至約0.15mm。間隔可儘可能地小,只要在該裝置不使用時保護器不與觸控螢幕部分接觸即可。膜之剛性促成所要之間隔,因為膜剛性越大,間隔就能越近。然而,該膜不應剛性過大,以免阻礙到使用者操作觸控螢幕部分之能力。本文揭示之較佳尺寸及性質達成了此等特徵。
該膜具有前側及背側、對應於裝置之外周邊的外周邊,以及透明窗。透明窗之透光率較佳為大於60%,更較佳為大於75%,且最較佳為大於85%。在一個較佳實施例中,該膜具有介於約0.15mm與約2mm之間的厚度,且包括在其周邊周圍之不透明帶。
該膜足夠硬或足夠剛性,使得當將保護器施加至手持式裝置上且將該裝置水平放置在平坦表面上時,該膜不會在其自身重量下彎曲或塌陷而接觸觸控螢幕部分。較佳地,膜之硬度大於1H,如藉由鉛筆硬度測試所檢定。更較佳地,膜之硬度大於2H。最較佳地,膜之 硬度大於3H。該膜亦足夠薄,從而為彈性的,使得為了操作觸控螢幕部分,只需要使用者的手指輕輕地用力將該膜之透明窗上的任一點按壓到手持式裝置之觸控螢幕部分上。該膜可由可用的任何合適之透明材料製成。在一個實施例中,該膜由選自由以下各物組成之群組之透明材料製成:聚酯、聚乙烯、聚丙烯及聚碳酸酯。較佳地,該膜為由聚對苯二甲酸乙二酯(PET)製成之塑膠膜。
由透明材料製成之多個圓點存在於膜之背側上(亦即,該膜的面向觸控螢幕之側),以減少干擾圖案(牛頓環)之出現。此外,此等圓點消除了干擾觸控螢幕敏感性之部分靜電吸附。在一個實施例中,圓點由與膜相同之材料製成。儘管圓點可隨機地提供,但較佳在該膜之透明窗中以規定間距來排列該等圓點。在一個實施例中,兩個鄰近圓點之間的距離是0.1mm至10mm。圓點可具有任何形狀,包括圓形、球形、橢圓形、圓柱形、多邊形、圓錐形或其組合。重要的是,圓點之高度(亦即,圓點尖端與膜背面之間的距離)小於暴露之黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合之厚度,使得當將保護器施加至手持式裝置上且將該裝置水平放置在平坦表面上且裝置不使用時,圓點不會接觸到觸控螢幕部分。在一個實施例中,圓點具有介於0.003mm與1mm之間的高度,較佳在0.05mm至0.9mm之間。當存在隔片時,圓點自膜延伸達小於黏合劑/隔片組合之厚度的距離。在一個較佳實施例中,每一圓點為半球體,其平坦表面附著至膜之背側。較佳地,球體之半徑為0.05mm至0.9mm。因為圓點較佳由透明材料製成,所以其不會不利地影響透過透明窗之可見度。因為當電子裝置不使用時圓點不與觸控螢幕接觸,所以當在操作之前或期間觀看觸控螢幕時,干擾圖案得以減少。因為圓點僅在按壓保護器時才會觸碰到螢幕,所以圓點在保護器已被手指壓下後阻止該膜吸附在螢幕上,此為黏附至觸控螢幕或以其他方式與觸控螢幕持續接觸之保護器的常見問題。在本發明中,保 護性膜實際上「浮動」在螢幕上方,其中該等圓點直至該膜被使用者之手指壓到螢幕上時才觸碰螢幕。
在一個實施例中,塗佈該膜以具有「霧面」或防眩光效應。例如EZ-GLIDETM表面處理之表面處理進一步允許較好之觸控螢幕部分可操縱性且有效地減少手持式裝置之觸控螢幕部分上的手指滑動摩擦。雖然可能認為將要由使用者手持之先前膜產品需要處理以減少由於摩擦接觸所產生之靜電電荷,但本發明之發明人發現在膜之背側(亦即,該膜的面向觸控螢幕部分之側)上提供EZ-GLIDETM微粒表面處理會在使用者之一或多個手指將保護器按壓到觸控螢幕部分上時減少干擾圖案(或牛頓環)之產生。除了此所要之防牛頓環效應之外,在膜之背側上進行EZ-GLIDETM微粒表面處理亦防止或避免在螢幕保護器與觸控螢幕部分之間產生靜電效應。
除非將螢幕保護器按壓到觸控螢幕部分上,否則微粒不會與觸控螢幕部分實體接觸。因為微粒之防靜電效應,所以螢幕保護器一旦不再被按壓到觸控螢幕部分上,便將快速地彈回或拉離觸控螢幕部分。膜之背側上的微粒可具有各種形狀,例如圓柱形狀及波形形狀。微粒之密度經優化,使得其高到足以提供防靜電效應,但又不會太高,以免不利地影響透過窗觀看之圖像的品質。較佳地,微粒覆蓋膜之5%以上。更較佳地,微粒覆蓋膜之8%以上。最佳地,微粒覆蓋膜之10%以上。在需要時,可用微粒覆蓋保護器之整個膜,但若僅覆蓋整個膜之多達50%,亦可達成良好之結果。微粒可由此項技術中常見之任何透明材料製成。較佳地,微粒由PET製成,使得其與膜材料兼容。最佳的是,本發明之螢幕保護器之膜在兩側上包括微粒,使得該膜之前表面及背表面在使用期間不會產生靜電。
在本發明之一個實施例中,因為在膜之背側存在多個透明圓點,所以觸控螢幕保護器在使用期間減少可見干擾圖案。在本發明之 另一實施例中,因為在膜之背側存在微粒及多個透明圓點,所以觸控螢幕保護器在使用期間減少可見干擾圖案。
大多數電子裝置之觸控螢幕具有非功能不透明帶,其產生周邊邊框。本發明之螢幕保護器經設計而使得暴露之黏合劑可黏附至此邊框,因此透明窗使得觸控螢幕部分之整個操作部分能夠被使用。膜上之不透明帶或多或少地對應於裝置正面之非功能帶。在一個實施例中,在施加暴露之黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合之前,將不透明塗層印刷到膜之背側上。在另一實施例中,將不透明塗層印刷到膜之前側上。不透明印刷塗層之厚度介於約0.0005mm與0.015mm(0.5至1/0.5微米)之間,且較佳為約0.001mm(1微米)。在一些實施例中,將不透明塗層印刷在膜之背側上;圓點之高度小於印刷塗層與暴露之黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合的組合厚度。
可用與裝置正面上之非功能邊框之顏色匹配或形成對比的不同顏色來印刷不透明塗層。在一個實施例中,不透明塗層之顏色是白色,以便匹配裝置正面之白色或與裝置正面之黑色形成對比。在一些實施例中,挑選不透明塗層之顏色以定製裝置之外觀。在一些實施例中,不透明帶之顏色與暴露之黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合之顏色相同。在其他實施例中,不透明帶之顏色與暴露之黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合之顏色不同。在一個較佳實施例中,不透明帶為白色的,暴露之黏合劑則具有灰色。
為了確保操作觸控螢幕部分不受阻礙,黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合儘可能地具有小於邊框寬度之寬度。為此,暴露之黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合具有比不透明帶之寬度小1mm至2mm的寬度。因此,當沿著外周邊將黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合適當地施加至膜之背側上時,其大體圍繞透明窗但較佳不觸碰到該透明窗,因此促進裝置之觸控螢幕部分之適當操作。黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合不必在透明窗上方形 成密封之氣袋,亦不必經施加以完全圍繞該窗。
對於具有不均勻之非功能邊界的裝置(例如,iPod Touch),可按相同方式來組態保護器之黏合劑。亦可能(儘管並非較佳的)在觸控螢幕之側邊界非常小時,僅在周邊之一部分上(例如,矩形保護器之頂部及底部上)包括暴露之黏合劑,使得可將保護器安裝在裝置上而不會阻擋或干擾到裝置之功能觸控螢幕部分。因此,大體上沿著裝置之側邊界來提供黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合。具體而言,提供足夠之黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合以將保護器保持在螢幕上之固定位置,使得保護器在裝置之操作期間被使用者之手指觸碰到時不會滑動或移動出原有位置。沿著側邊界之多個部分以不連續或間斷方式提供黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合亦是可接受的,只要黏合劑存在於占非功能邊框之至少20%且較佳為至少50%之區域上即可。黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合之寬度可沿著如所說明之側邊界而變化,以與觸控螢幕之非功能區對應。
當裝置之觸控螢幕在其周邊周圍具有非功能帶時,疑選擇黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合之寬度以符合帶之寬度,使得在將保護器黏接到裝置上時,黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合不會干擾到觸控螢幕部分之使用。
當存在隔片時,可包括藉由接合黏合劑而附著至膜的至少一個不透明條帶,該接合黏合劑的黏合性比將觸控螢幕保護器附著至觸控螢幕之暴露的黏合劑強。在一個實施例中,隔片包含至少兩個條帶;第一條帶黏接在膜之周邊上,且第二條帶黏接在第一條帶上,而第二條帶支撐暴露之黏合劑。每一條帶之厚度為0.05mm至0.5mm,其中以0.07mm至0.18mm較佳。在另一實施例中,隔片為包括塑膠膜之膠帶,在前側及背側上均具有黏合劑,其中在膠帶之面向膜之側上的黏合劑比將保護器安裝至裝置之觸控螢幕上的黏合劑強。黏合劑或黏合 劑/隔片組合的厚度足以隔開該膜,使其在觸控螢幕部分附近但不與觸控螢幕部分接觸。
暴露之黏合劑允許將保護器可移除式地安裝在觸控螢幕之外周邊上,以在膜之透明窗、黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合及裝置之觸控螢幕部分之間形成空間。暴露之黏合劑的黏合性足以將保護器安裝至裝置上,但在其移除時又不會在裝置上留下黏合劑殘留物。暴露之黏合劑宜具有5至50克之黏合強度。此類型之各種黏合劑可從市場購得,且熟習此項技術者可選擇特定黏合劑用於保護器至任何特定裝置的特定應用。允許重複清潔及再施加之黏合劑是較佳的,使得螢幕保護器可沖洗且重複地再利用。可使用任何市售之可洗且可再使用之黏合劑,諸如由矽酮及聚氨酯(PU)製成之黏合劑。在一個實施例中,暴露之黏合劑並非由丙烯酸製成。在一個實施例中,暴露之黏合劑是施加至膜之背側上,最好被膜之不透明帶接收的不透明黏合劑條帶。
對於一些實施例,隔片可僅僅是所要厚度之黏合劑。可對保護器膜的周邊進行處理,使得與結合至通常由玻璃製成之觸控螢幕相比,黏合劑更牢固地結合至保護器膜。此便於移除保護器而不會在觸控螢幕上留下黏合劑殘留物。
較佳地,本發明之觸控螢幕保護器亦包含背襯部件以保護膜之背側及暴露之黏合劑。背襯部件可進一步包括凸片以在安裝保護器時輔助移除背襯部件。藉由抓住且拉動凸片,可容易地自保護器移除背襯部件,使得能夠藉由使暴露之黏合劑接觸裝置之觸控螢幕之非功能邊框而將保護器安裝到裝置上。
因為此等類型之電子裝置中之許多電子裝置在觸控螢幕操作部分或邊框上包括一或多個操作按鈕以用於執行諸如網際網路瀏覽器、照片、音樂或電子郵件之間的開關切換的功能,所以本發明之觸控螢幕保護器可進一步包含與電子裝置上的一或多個按鈕匹配或容納該一 或多個按鈕的一或多個孔或切口。除使按鈕露出以便於操作之外,此等孔或切口亦充當對準特徵以促進該膜在觸控螢幕上的適當安裝。
儘管觸控螢幕保護器可具有任何形狀,但其較佳為大體上矩形以符合當前手持式裝置之形狀,大多數手持式裝置具有大體上矩形形狀。具體而言,保護器之形狀並非嚴格的矩形,因為拐角經修圓以匹配裝置之拐角。因此,觸控螢幕保護器可用以保護許多不同種類之手持式電子裝置(例如行動電話、讀取裝置、音樂裝置、觀看裝置或導航裝置)的觸控螢幕。此類裝置之實例為iPhone、Nook、iPod、iPad、Droid及GPS導航系統。保護器之性質以及其設計使得特定實施例能夠經調適以符合任何此類裝置之觸控螢幕。
本發明之觸控螢幕保護器的優點為能夠容易且快速地安裝,例如在30秒或更少時間內。此安裝為比在膜之整個背側上具有黏合劑之保護器簡單得多的安裝。與未使用黏合劑而放置在螢幕上之保護器相比,將膜維持在螢幕上適當位置中亦為有利的。而且,因為本發明之觸控螢幕保護器將被輕輕地施加至通常圍繞手持式裝置之觸控螢幕部分之非功能邊框,所以不用擔心在觸控螢幕部分上留下膠痕。因此,可容易且簡單地移除本發明之觸控螢幕保護器而對手持式裝置之觸控螢幕部分之外觀及顯示品質沒有任何不利效應。
有利的是,當手持式裝置由本發明之觸控螢幕保護器保護時,觸控螢幕部分上之指印污跡減少,且對顯示器之品質及螢幕之觸碰響應具有最小影響。當在手持式裝置上使用技術應用時,甚至將允許使用電容式觸筆。
另外,本發明之觸控螢幕保護器亦減少了有光澤之觸控螢幕部分的眩光。因此,觸控螢幕部分上之照片看起來像是打印的。即使大體上移除了眩光,但對於觸控螢幕部分之脆性幾乎沒有影響。由於本發明之觸控螢幕保護器之耐指印特徵,因此觸控螢幕部分上之污跡得 以大體上減少。
實例 實例1:保護iPad
本發明之保護器可經製造而供蘋果之iPad使用,作為經特定設計以保護iPad觸控螢幕同時減少指印污跡之防反射螢幕保護器。與需要繁瑣之安裝程序且常常導致不想要之空氣氣泡或阻礙觸控螢幕效能的其他螢幕保護器不同,該保護器可在數秒內安裝好且沒有任何空氣氣泡。如圖1A至圖1D之示意圖所示,安裝程序如下。第一,藉由使用包括在包裝中之微纖維布擦去iPad螢幕上之任何灰塵微粒來清潔iPad之螢幕(圖1A)。第二,在將塑膠膜施加至iPad螢幕之非功能邊界之前輕輕地剝去背襯部件(圖1B)。第三,自底部開始對準保護器,使保護器之圓形開口放置在iPad之「主畫面」按鈕上(圖1C)。最後,在保護器之邊框周圍施加輕柔之壓力使得其緊固在iPad上適當位置處(圖1D)。
圖2至圖4中展示保護器以及其構造之其他細節。如圖2中所示,保護器10大體上為矩形的且在其周邊周圍具有不透明帶15。該帶基本上符合圍繞iPad之觸控螢幕的非功能帶,而透明窗20對應於iPad之觸控螢幕之功能部分。保護器包括對應於iPad之開關選擇器按鈕的孔25。提供暴露之黏合劑的黏合劑/隔片組合在塑膠膜之背側上,且由於不透明帶之存在而不可見。
圖3為黏合劑/隔片組合之放大橫截面圖。塑膠膜被展示為30,具有展示為35之不透明帶。黏合劑/隔片組合被展示為40,且其包括藉由黏合劑44而黏附至塑膠膜30之第一條帶42,以及藉由黏合劑48而黏附至第一條帶42之第二條帶46。暴露之黏合劑被展示為50。黏合劑44、48各自具有比暴露之黏合劑50強之黏合性。
圖4為當背襯部件65被移除以便將保護器施加至iPad時的保護器 10之背側的視圖。如圖所示,已拉開凸片部件60以將背襯部件65與暴露之黏合劑50分離,因此展示背襯部件之內表面62及在透明窗後方之塑膠膜30之背側以及黏合劑/隔片組合之暴露之黏合劑50。在將保護器10施加至iPad之前完全移除了背襯部件65。
因為螢幕保護器並不觸碰iPad之觸控螢幕部分,所以其可容易地移除而不會在觸控螢幕部分上留下任何殘留物。黏合劑由於其相對低之黏附性而亦不會在非功能邊框上留下任何殘留物。觸控螢幕保護器提供極佳之觸控螢幕部分可操縱性及耐劃痕/污跡性,同時保留最佳之觸控螢幕部分敏感性及反饋。
實例2:保護iPhone 4

實例3:用於觸控螢幕保護器之塑膠膜 塑膠膜經製成而具有以下規格:
為確保膜之品質,如下進行諸如劃方格法膠帶測試之若干測試:首先,用工具刀水平且垂直地切割膜之表面各11道,以在膜上產生一百個1mm×1mm的正方形。接著,將長度大於20mm之米其邦(Nichiban)Celofan膠帶(米其邦第405號)施加至切割表面上且用手指按壓。其後,拉起膠帶末端且將膠帶移除至60°角/0.5-1mm以查看是否有任何塗層脫落。
在實例1及2兩者中,必要時可將保護器移除以進行清潔及再施加。可藉由用水沖洗且空氣乾燥來清潔保護器。必要時可應用少量之餐具洗滌劑。可首先刷去貼附於觸控螢幕部分上之任何碎片或灰塵。一旦完成沖洗,便將保護器以黏合劑側朝上放置在毛巾上且允許空氣乾燥。在保護器完全乾燥且清潔後,可將其再施加至裝置。

Claims (16)

  1. 一種用於具有一正面之一手持式電子裝置之觸控螢幕保護器,該正面包括一觸控螢幕部分及一非功能帶,該觸控螢幕保護器包含:一膜,其具有前側及背側、對應於該裝置之該正面之外周邊之一外周邊,及大小對應於該觸控螢幕部分之一透明窗;一暴露之黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合,其係沿著該膜之大體上圍繞該透明窗之該外周邊而提供在該膜之該背側上,其具有足以隔開該膜使其在該觸控螢幕部分附近但不與該觸控螢幕部分接觸之一厚度,用於將該保護器可移除式地安裝在該正面之一外周邊上,以在該膜之該透明窗、該黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合及該裝置之該觸控螢幕部分之間形成一空間,及多個圓點,其以一規定間距排列,且以一密度存在於該膜之該背側上,該密度足夠高以在該保護器之該透明窗被按壓到該觸控螢幕部分上用於該電子裝置之操作時,減少干擾圖案,其中該等圓點自該膜延伸達小於該黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合之該厚度之一距離,使得該等圓點在該電子裝置不使用時不接觸該觸控螢幕,且使得該透明窗可被按壓到該觸控螢幕部分上用於該電子裝置之操作,同時防止一使用者之手指與該觸控螢幕部分直接接觸,且在使用期間減少可見之干擾圖案。
  2. 如請求項1之觸控螢幕保護器,其中該多個圓點各自由一透明材料製成,且與鄰近圓點相隔介於0.1mm與10mm之間之一距離。
  3. 如請求項1之觸控螢幕保護器,其中該膜亦包括微粒,該等微粒以有效地用於為該窗提供防眩光及防靜電效應之一量黏附到該 透明窗之該前側。
  4. 如請求項1之觸控螢幕保護器,其中該膜包含若干微粒,該等微粒以一密度存在於該膜之該背側上,該密度足夠高以輔助提供一防靜電效應而不會不利地影響透過該窗觀看之圖像的品質。
  5. 如請求項1之觸控螢幕保護器,其中該暴露之黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合具有介於約0.05mm與約1mm之間之一厚度,且該膜具有介於0.1mm與2mm之間之一厚度,且包括在其周邊周圍之一不透明帶,該不透明帶接收該暴露之黏合劑或黏合劑/隔片組合。

  16. 一種手持式觸控螢幕電子裝置,其具有一正面,該正面包括一觸控螢幕部分及一非功能之外周邊,其中如請求項1之觸控螢幕保護器被提供以附著至該裝置之該觸控螢幕部分,且該觸控螢幕可被其附著,但不會致使在該膜之該透明窗與該裝置之該觸控螢幕部分之間形成氣泡。
