現在參考圖3,在區塊66,使用螢幕使用者介面(UI)可在第一次開機時經由設定常式或之後從選單引導TV 12的使用者設定TV的各種特性。作為範例,可能針對TV內的一或多個可授權組件詢問使用者,使用者是否期望使用該組件。若使用者希望自動地掃描廣播頻譜以偵測頻道,可能,例如,藉由詢問該使用者而隱含地完成,在該情形中,可能推斷將需要ATSC解碼器/解調器58及MPEG解碼器62,且因此將需要使用此等組件的許可證。又,在後一情形中,可能推斷可能需要地面廣播EPG的許可證,然而若不將地面廣播使用為輸入源,將不需要此種許可證。

圖4顯示若有需要,自動許可證判定可能在在使用者設定常式的外側產生。在圖4所示的範例中,在決策稜形76開始,判定預定實體條件是否在TV中存在,例如,特定類型的連接,可能自其推斷將需要何種可授權組件。在圖4的範例中,實體條件係電壓存在於調諧器16之自動增益控制(AGC)電路中,其會在,例如,在TV機殼產生至地面天線34的連接或在將來自牆壁之纜線連接至F-型連接器38時發生。
在此範例中,當測試實體條件存在時,邏輯前進至區塊78以啟動NTSC解調器54。完成NTSC解調器的辨認典型地不需要許可證,以避免非必要地請求許可證,首先測試在調諧器16的訊號以判定其是否係NTSC訊號。決策稜形80指出該測試係是否可能有「雜訊」存在於該訊號中。

Claims (19)
- 一種用於提供省略關鍵碼部分以啟動音訊視訊裝置中的可授權組件之方法,包含:在具有能執行碼之處理器的音訊視訊顯示裝置中接收初始軟體碼,該初始軟體碼不包括關鍵碼段,不具有該關鍵碼段則該初始軟體不能由該處理器執行以實行授權功能;回應於用於該授權功能之許可證已啟動的判定,接收與該音訊視訊顯示裝置中之該初始軟體碼配合的該關鍵碼段,以提供完全功能碼;且使用該處理器執行該完全功能碼,從而在該音訊視訊顯示裝置上實行該授權功能,其中該初始軟體碼具有進入點及退出點,將該關鍵碼段複製入該進入點及該退出點之間的該初始軟體碼中,以提供該完全功能碼。

- 如申請專利範圍第14項之方法,其中該初始軟體碼具有進入點及退出點,將該關鍵碼段複製入該進入點及該退出點之間的該初始軟體碼中,以提供該完全功能碼。
- 如申請專利範圍第14項之方法,其中若該初始軟體碼不具有該關鍵碼段,則其無論如何不具有可執行能力。
- 如申請專利範圍第14項之方法,其中該初始軟體碼在不具有該關鍵碼段的情況下,具有受縮限的可執行能力。
- 如申請專利範圍第18項之方法,其中該初始軟體碼包括已縮限能力模組,且當接收該關鍵碼段時,從操作中移除該已縮限能力模組。
