Description

根據各種例示性實施例，對於一機上盒(STB)或其他錄影機上圖形化提供數字輸入或其他控制提供了系統及方法。
在各種實施例中，對於在一機上盒(STB)或其他電視接收器回應於從一遠端控制器接收之觀看者指令之圖形化特徵提供了一方法。包含各種影像塊之影像呈現在顯示器上，每個影像塊對應於提供的特徵之一。一個二維輸入從該遠端控制器接收，其指示了該複數個影像塊中之一選擇的影像塊，且回應於該接收之二維輸入，提供了與該選擇影像塊關聯之特徵。
在進一步實施例中，提供了一種方法，其回應於從一遠端控制器傳送之觀看者指令，在經組態以在一顯示器上呈現影像的一電視接收器中選擇一所欲觀看頻道。該方法包括在該顯示器上呈現影像，其中該影像包括複數個影像塊，每個影像塊對應於複數個特徵之一；從該指示複數個影像塊之一選擇的影像塊之該遠端控制器接收一個二維輸入，其中該複數個影像塊之該選擇的影像塊具有一關聯之頻道號碼；及回應於該接收之二維輸入，調整該電視接收器到該關聯之頻道號碼以藉此從該顯示器上呈現來自所欲觀看頻道之節目。

現在轉向圖式且最初參考圖1，用於展現電視信號至一觀看者之一例示性系統100合適地包含一接收器108，其接收任意格式之信號105，且產生適當之輸出107以在顯示器102上產生影像110。通常，隨觀看者之所欲，接收器108與從一無線遠端控制器112接收之信號129互動，以在顯示器102上展現電視影像110。展現在影像110上之各種特徵可廣泛地在各個實施例間改變。例如該相對間距，該等各種視窗的比例與位置及其他在此描述之特徵完全是例示性的，且可在其他實施例中廣泛地改變。其他實施例可類似地添加或忽略某些特徵，或目的在使用除在此描述之特徵之外的各種特徵。
電視影像係以任意方式展現在顯示器102上。此外，可呈現二維導航特徵以該允許觀看者經遠端控制器112控制一游標114或其他介面特徵而存取接收器108之各種特徵。在各種實施例中，游標114可回應於二維輸入信號129而移動，該信號129依序產生以回應於適用於二維輸入裝置123之輸入。藉由移動游標114以與展示於顯示器102上之該二維導航特徵互動，亦可調整、開啟或如所欲般以別的方式操縱各種頻道、節目及/或其他特徵。

顯示器102係可展示影像110至一觀看者之任意裝置。在各種實施例中，顯示器102係一習知的電視機，比如與任意數位或類比協定、標準或其他格式關聯之任意種類之電視操作。例如，顯示器102可為一習知NTSC或PAL電視接收器。在其他實施例中，顯示器102係一監視器或其他可不包含內建功能性接收器之裝置，但仍然可回應於從接收器108接收之信號107以展示影像。在各種實施例中，接收器108及顯示器102可實體上結合或以任意方式互連。例如一接收卡可插入一狹槽或一習知的電視中其他介面或在一習知電視顯示器102上提供接收器108之功能性。在其他實施例中，信號107使用任意種類之有線或其他介面(包含一無線介面)而在接收器108與顯示器102間轉移。通用介面之實例如所欲般沒有限制地包含混合視訊、S-視訊、高清晰度多媒體介面(HDMI)、數位視覺介面(DVI)、IEEE 1394及/或任意其他格式。

各種控制邏輯205之實施例可包含任意可控制該等接收器108之各種組件的電路、組件、硬體、軟體及/或韌體邏輯。如下文更充分地描述，在接收器108內實行之各種常式、方法及程序通常係在控制邏輯205的控制下實現。一般而言，控制邏輯205經由一RF接收器介面232接收使用者輸入信號209(圖1)，該介面232可使用一合適的天線234與該遠端控制器112通信。控制邏輯從遠端控制器112及/或任意其他源接收使用者輸入，且指引接收器108之該等其他組件回應於該等接收的輸入以在顯示器102上展現所欲之影像。
如上所述，接收器108合適地包含一接收器介面208，該介面係可經由一個或多個內容源105接收媒體內容之任意硬體、軟體、韌體及/或其他邏輯。在各種實施例中，內容源105可如所欲包含有線電視、直播衛星(DBS)、廣播及/或其他節目源。接收器介面208適宜地選擇一所欲之輸入源且提供該接收的內容至一適宜目的地以進一步處理。在各種實施例中，接收的節目可即時(或接近即時)提供至一傳送流選擇模組212或其他組件以立即解碼且展現給該使用者。另外，在提供DVR功能性之實施例中，接收器介面208可提供從任意源接收之內容至一磁碟或其他儲存媒體。在此種實施例中，接收器108亦可包含一磁碟控制器模組206，該模組與一內部的或外部的硬碟、記憶體及/或其他在一資料庫110儲存內容之裝置互動，如上文所描述。
在圖2呈現之實施例中，接收器108亦包含一適宜的網路介面210，其使用任意協定或其他特徵之執行操作以支援經接收器108之任意種類之區域、廣域、電話及/或其他網路的通信。在各種實施例中，網路介面210支援習知的LAN、WAN或其他協定(例如，廣泛使用於網際網路上之TCP/IP或UDP/IP協定組)以允許接收器108如所欲般在網際網路上或任意其他網路上通信。網路介面210通常使用任意種類之LAN配接器硬體以與該網路介面，比如一習知網路介面卡(NIC)或提供在接收器108內的類似物。其他實施例可提供介面210至習知電話線路或其他通信頻道，或可完全地忽略網路連接性。
傳送串流選擇模組212係任意可從可用源選擇一所欲之媒體串流的硬體及/或軟體邏輯。在圖2呈現之實施例中，串流選擇模組212可產生視訊信號以在一個或多個輸出介面228上展現。通常，傳送選擇模組212回應於觀看者輸入(例如經由控制邏輯205)只是為切換從一廣播、衛星、有線或其他源105或從儲存器110編碼的內容至一個或多個解碼器模組214。
接收器108可包含任意數目之解碼器模組214以解碼、解壓縮及/或以別的方式如所欲般處理接收的/儲存的內容。一般而言，解碼器模組214解壓縮、解碼及/或以別的方式處理從串流選擇模組212接收的內容以擷取一MPEG或其他在該串流內編碼之媒體流。之後該解碼的內容可由一個或多個顯示處理器模組218處理以在任意適宜格式下於顯示器102(圖1)上給該觀看者構建一展示。圖2呈現一單一解碼器模組214，其對於從傳送選擇模組212接收之一個電視信號進行操作。在實踐中，可使用任意數目之解碼器模組214，尤其在當多種信號同時地解碼及顯示的「畫中畫」情形中。之後該術語「解碼器」可共同地應用於一個或多個解碼器模組，該等模組可在顯示器104上解碼一個或多個信號以展現。

顯示處理器218產生以任意標準格式編碼之一輸出信號(例如，對於標準清晰度電視信號之ITU656格式或對於高清晰度電視信號之任意格式)，該格式可在介面228上被容易地轉換為標準及/或高清晰度電視信號。在其他實施例中，該顯示處理器218及介面228之功能性可以任意方式結合。
圖3呈現一例示性圖110之展示，其包含任意數目之影像塊124A-I，且其將允許一觀看者使用具二維輸入能力之一遠端控制器112而選擇特徵。其他實施例可合併不同尺寸及組態之影像110，且/或可允許任意方式之額外的或其他的特徵。展示於顯示器102上之影像110的實際景像可在沒有脫離在此討論之概念下從圖3呈現之圖中廣泛地改變。

步驟402適當地涉及用一個或多個影像塊124(例如圖1及圖3中影像塊124A-I)展現影像110。如上所述，每個影像塊適宜地相應於一個或多個由接收器104提供之所欲之特徵；這種特徵之實例包含頻道或節目調整，提供與一網路、頻道、節目、DVR、EPG、位移特徵、客戶服務特徵及/或類似物關聯之內容。在各種實施例中，影像塊124與由顯示處理模組218產生之任意種類的影像110一體化，且展現在顯示器102上。
該觀看者與該展現的影像塊124以任意方式互動。如上所述，在各種實施例中，該觀看者使用一遠端控制器112提供輸入給接收器104，該遠端控制器112與一二維輸入裝置123合併，比如一觸控墊、運動感測器、指向墊、操縱桿、軌跡球及/或類似物。來自遠端控制器112之信號129提供接收器104適宜的資訊以指引影像110上游標114之位置，且適宜地指示觀看者選擇影像塊124。

Claims (20)
