Abstract

The present invention relates to a polarizing film inspection device and method capable of automatically inspecting existence of a failure in a polarizing film applied to an LCD. The polarizing film inspection device comprises: a loading section installed at one side of the machine; a loading shuttle installed at one side of the loading section; an inspection section installed at one side of the loading shuttle for inspecting the polarizing film; an unloading shuttle installed at one side of the inspection part; and an unloading section installed at one side of the unloading shuttle. A loading head section is installed so as to transfer the polarizing film between the loading section and the loading shuttle, and a loading transfer is installed in the loading shuttle to transfer a carrier for holding the polarizing film between the loading shuttle and the inspection section. A line scan and a region scan transfer are installed so as to transfer the carrier for holding the polarizing film to the inspection section, and an unloading transfer is installed in an unloading shuttle for transferring the carrier located at the inspection section to the unloading shuttle. In addition, an unloading head section is installed between the unloading shuttle and the unloading section for discharging the polarizing film held by the carrier located at the unloading shuttle to the unloading section, and a return transfer is installed between the unloading shuttle and the loading shuttle for transferring an empty carrier to the loading shuttle.
