Abstract

It is an object of the present invention to selectively and easily recover phosphate ions from wastewater that contains ions such as nitrate ions, sulfate ions and iodine ions and phosphate ions. There is provided a wastewater processing method of recovering phosphate ions from wastewater that contains at least one selected from nitrate ions, sulfate ions and iodine ions and phosphate ions, the method including bringing wastewater into contact with an anion exchange resin under the acid conditions, thereby realizing ion exchange of ions of the aforesaid nitrate ions, sulfate ions and/or iodine ions contained in the wastewater, then again bringing the wastewater into contact with an anion exchange resin, thereby allowing the anion exchange resin to realize ion exchange of the phosphate ions and hence recovering the phosphate ions from the wastewater.
