Abstract
The objective of the invention is to provide a composite foil which exhibits high tensile strength even after a high-temperature heat treatment and is suitably used as a negative electrode current collector for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. The following composite foils (1) and (2) are employed for the metallic foil for the negative electrode current collector for the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries. A cobalt plating layer or a cobalt-nickel alloy plating layer is preferably formed on the surface of a copper foil. (1) The composite foil obtained by forming a cobalt plating layer on the surface of a copper foil. (2) The composite foil obtained by forming a cobalt-nickel alloy plating layer on the surface of the copper foil.
