Abstract
Bu buluş, daha yüksek bir sıkıştırma verimliliğine ulaşmayı sağlayabilecek olan bir görüntü kodlama/kod çözme tekniği ortaya koyar. Bir görüntü kod çözme yönteminde şunlar bulunur: bir kestirilmiş görüntüye ulaşmak için blok bazında çerçeve-içi kestirim gerçekleştirilen bir çerçeve-içi kestirim basamağı; çerçeve-içi kestirim basamağı ile oluşturulan kestirilmiş görüntü ile asıl görüntü arasındaki kestirimsel farkın hesaplandığı bir çıkarma basamağı; kestirimsel farka istinaden frekans çevirme işlemi gerçekleştirilen bir frekans çevirme basamağı; frekans çevirme basamağının çıktısının nicemleme işlemine tâbi tutulduğu bir nicemleme basamağı; ve nicemleme basamağının çıktısının değişken-uzunluklu kodlama işlemine tâbi tutulduğu bir değişken-uzunluklu kodlama basamağı; burada çerçeve-içi kestirim kodlama basamağında, kodlanacak olan hedef pikselin aralarında yer aldığı iki referans piksele ait piksel değerleri kullanılarak, kodlanacak olan hedef piksele dair kestirim yapılır.
