Description
Phenol-formaldehyde resins used in the manufacture of alcohol varnishes are obtained by condensing phenol or cresol with formaldehyde in the presence of acidic catalysts.
The proposed method for the preparation of the PEPO-formaldehyde resin is that the phenol-formaldehyde is condensed with an excess of formaldehyde (rezolnog ratio of components) in turpentine in the presence of sulfuric acid as a catalyst. This produces a resin that is soluble in alcohol, the lacquer coatings of which are not inferior to those of conventional phenol-formaldehyde lacquers.
An advantage of the proposed method for producing a resin is that an available raw material, turpentine, is used as one of the components, which increases the yield of the resin.
The approximate composition of the phenol-formaldehyde resin:
. . 15-25 сFormalin 31% sul .... 4.7 kg Turpentine zhivichny .... 2 kg Sulfuric acid 70% sna. . . 15-25 s
По окончанни конденсации смола обезвоживаетс до полной прозрачности и выдерживаетс при нагревании до достижени требуемой температуры плавлени .The condensation process is carried out at the boiling point of the mixture (97-98 °). Upon completion of the condensation, the resin is dewatered to full transparency and maintained when heated to the desired melting point.
Subject invention
Способ получени феиольно-формальдегидной смолы путем однофазной конденсации фенола с формальдегидом при избытке последнего в присутствии серной кислоты, отлич а ю ид и и с тем, что, с целью получени спирторастворимой смолы, конденсацию провод т в среде скппидара .The method of obtaining feiol-formaldehyde resin by single-phase condensation of phenol with formaldehyde with an excess of the latter in the presence of sulfuric acid is different from the fact that, in order to obtain an alcohol-soluble resin, the condensation is carried out in scppidar medium.
