При конденсации крезолов с формальдегидом в присутствии щелочей получаютс продукты, растворимые лншь в спирте и поэтому не поддающиес смеишванию, напр., со смолами, нерастворимыми в спирте. Спиртовые растворы их могут служить лаками дл покрыти металлов прн нагревании, но они не пригодны дл покрыти эластичных предметов, напр., фибры, тонкого железа, брезента, картона и т. п.By condensation of cresols with formaldehyde in the presence of alkalis, products are soluble in alcohol and therefore not susceptible to mixing, for example, with alcohol insoluble resins.
