Abstract

FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method for continous metal pouring includes metal supply into crystallizer, pulling of ingot from it with variable speed, supply of slag mixture to metal meniscus in the crystallizer, supporting and direction of ingot by means of rollers, cooling of ingot surface by coolant is to be sprayed by injectors, control of coolant consamption according to exponential law from maximum value at the end of cooling zone, temperature measurement of ingot surface and scale removal from ingot surface. During continuous pouring scale is removed periodical in 0.5-10.0 min and the temperature of ingot surface is measured with scale and after its removal. Received temperature values are compared. At their deviation from optimum values of temperatures difference within the limit of 40-60 C coolant consumption is changed along the zone of secondary cooling for 3-5% from working value for each 4-6 C deviation of the mentioned temperatures difference from optimum value. At increase of difference above 40-60 C the coolant consumption is decreased and the coolant consumption is increased at decrease of difference below 40-60 C. EFFECT: improved quality of ingots.
