Description
This invention relates to analytical chemistry, and specifically to methods for the determination of magnesium.
Цель изобретени - повышение чувствительности и избирательности определени при анализе растворов, содержащих ионы алюмини , железа, кальци , The purpose of the invention is to increase the sensitivity and selectivity of the determination in the analysis of solutions containing ions of aluminum, iron, calcium,
Example: To 2.5 mm of the test solution containing 0.2-10 µg of magnesium ions, more than 50 µg of iron ions, 1.0 mg of calcium ions and 1.5 .mg of aluminum ions, add 5 ml. water, 1 ml of a 1% salicylic acid solution (mm 138.12), 1 ml of a 0.01% solution of Congo red (mm 696.76), 5 ml 2 and, sodium hydroxide solution and bring the volume to 25 ml with water. After 5 mi} 1, the optical density of the solution is determined at a wavelength of 540 nm in cuvettes with a layer thickness of 5 cm.
5, 7- .Salicylic acid content. : “: Congo red in 25 ml of solution is 29 10 10, 5, 7-, respectively.
ITo consider the effect of salicylic acid concentration on the optical density of the solution are given in Table I.
As can be seen from the table. 1, adding. certain amounts of salicylic acid in the reaction of magnesium with Congo red significantly (2 times) increases the optical density of solutions, i.e. sensitivity of the reaction. As can be seen from. experiments 3-6, the optimal concentrations of the reagent in determining magnesium are 1.510-3.3 I or 0.02-0.05% salicylic acid solutions. Smaller and larger salicylic concentrations significantly reduce the sensitivity of the reaction.

2.The results of comparing the optical densities of the solutions with different amounts of Congo red, expressed in molar and percentage concentrations, are given in Table. 2
Как видно из табл, 2 (опыт 11), при используемой в прототипе концентрации конго красного (0,003%) резуль таты имеют низкую точность из-за интенсивно окрашенного раствора сравнени (50%-ной ошибки - при определении 5 мкг), что значительно угрубл - ет нижний предел измерени (до 1 мкгAs can be seen from Table 2 (experiment 11), with the Congo red concentration used in the prototype (0.003%), the results have low accuracy due to the intensely colored comparison solution (50% error in determining 5 µg), which is significantly less - there is a lower limit of measurement (up to 1 µg
As can be seen from experiments 6-8 of Table 2, the optimum concentrations of Congo red in the determination of magnesium are 5-10-10.10 M or 0.00035- 0.0007% solutions,
Экспериментальные данные по сравнению результатов определени магни с помощью предлагаемого и известного способов, а также в присутствии суль фосалициловой кислоты по параметрам чувствительности и избирательности, в том числе и при совместном присутствии кальци , железа, алюмини приведены в табл, 3,Experimental data comparing the results of magnesium determination using the proposed and known methods, as well as in the presence of sulfosalicylic acid, in terms of sensitivity and selectivity parameters, including the joint presence of calcium, iron, aluminum, are given in Table 3;
As can be seen from the table. 3, the sensitivity of the proposed method is 0.2 μg in the analyzed volume, which is significant. higher than in the known (1 µg in the analyzed volume), as well as

The proposed method has advantages in selectivity and in the presence of iron, calcium, and aluminum ions, including their joint presence. In contrast to the prototype, the measurement of magnesium by the proposed method does not interfere with calcium in the amount of 1.5 mg, iron up to 50 µg, aluminum up to 0 mg. The use of sulfosalic acid instead of salicylic acid makes it possible to ensure the selectivity of the reaction in a narrower concentration range: respectively, at 25 and 50 µg Fe (III) at 1 and
